Aretha is my 1992 LE open top. I bought her from a sheyhk in Bahrian in 2002. After my posting there was over my wife and I drove her back to the UK in the Hummin2London expedition that started in Manama, ahrain and crossed Saudi, ordan, yria, urkey, reece, taly, rance and ended at our home in Cambridgeshire. In the ensuing years I converted her into a full out desert rallye racer and competed twice in the Tuareg Rallye in Morocco. She is more than a handful of fun! After 15 years abroad with the DoD we have returned stateside and Aretha has come too. Unfortunately for me, t is time to let her go to a new home. I will post a number of pics and some will be of her in former glory. The hard top was hand made in Bahrain but is long, ong gone. Basically, hatever H1 related stuff I have in my garage goes with her.Good stuff: everything above plus lots of great history. I hope you are not shy, he attracts a LOT of attention. Lots of love and attention. She has had great maintenance and I have not spared a dime (or pence) on her.Not good stuff: Transfer case could stand to be split and re-sealed. Drips a bit. It used to have an oil leak but it looks like I solved it. Handbrake still zip tied up, ill need to be re-attached. Soft top is old.A word about her condition. Is she a bit rough? Of course, he is a race truck. Is she an abused old lady on her last legs? NO, ertainly not. So the paint is chipped and the hood has a crack or two where it has bashed around, tc. But she in not, repeat, OT a tired nag. If you are looking for a boulevard cruiser, eep moving on. If you are looking for something with lots of heart and will take you where you want to go, nd back (!), his is your girl. Daily driver? Not really. Work horse, bsolutely!Aretha is currently inspected, axed and plated in Texas.
