Car description |

After buying a military HMMWV and believing it was the 4x4 to top all 4x4s I found, after a lot of driving, it was not all that it was cracked up to be. I did not like the way it ran hot, rode rough and rattled like a broken windmill. I hated the lack of ground clearance, the horrible turn radius, the plastic fuel cell hanging out the bottom, the lack of locking differentials, the wussy lights, no protection underneath and the chain driven, aluminum cased, joke of a transfer case.
Rather than try selling it to another sucker I decided to change everything about it I didn't like. I sold the body, shortened the frame, added rear steering with a pendant controlled independent hydraulic unit, added full carriage Eaton Detroit Lockers front and rear, changed the 242 transfer case to an NP205 with dual shift, a kick ass touch screen stereo with 10 inch kickers and a dual band ham radio on Comet antennas.
It has a 106 inch wheelbase, 13.5 foot turn radius, perforated 1/4 inch plate skids, 22 inch ground clearance, 41.5X13X18 Pit Bull Rocker tires with a spare, spare tire loading winch, convertible top, lay down windshield, 22.5K LED headlights and a Flex-A-Lite variable speed 16 inch fan.
It was built from a 1994 M998A1. I listed the year as 1980 so It would take the 6 digit VIN.
It has a clean Arizona title and is currently registered for highway use.
The body skin is 10 gauge cold rolled steel and the framework is 2X2 3/16 box tube. It is dual voltage, 24-12, with a 200 amp, dual voltage alternator, dual battery disconnects, waterproof gauges, switches and lights.
