The Honda City was Honda's answer to the urban city car and one of the first short tall cars. The City is not a kei-car - That was the Honda Today. The first generation City was introduced in 1981 as a 2 door hatchback. The Pininfarina styled Cabrio was introduced in 1984 thru 1986, making this car one of the final Cabrios built. While the Cabrio shares the Turbo II bulldog looks with flared fenders, the turbo engine was never available in the Cabrio, nor was the Motocompo scooter, (which will not fit through the small Cabrio trunk lid), so there is no Motocompo scooter included with the car. The car entered the US about 6 years ago, and was sold originally by Japanese Classics in Richmond VA. I've owned the car since September 2014. Legally registered and clear Texas title.

This City isn't perfect, but it's in pretty good shape for its age. Engine: 76 hp 1200 CVCC 4 cylinder (like the Civics from the 70s) Transmission: 3 speed semiautomatic "Hondamatic" which is a torque converter - The shifer is like an automatic, but the driver has to select the gears himself Mileage: 5-digit odometer shows 42,400 (most likely 142,400) KMS, which is 88,500 miles. Options: Digital clock works fine. Air conditioning. Works, but will need to be recharged due to gradual leak. Updated Pioneer stereo - this is a Japanese receiver which receives FM frequencies only up to 95 MHz. with a built in CD player and a USB port. There's also a Japanese toll card reader, which is useless here, but it speaks in Japanese every time you start the car, asking you to insert the toll card. Car is fitted with a leather wrapped Momo steering wheel (with Honda branding) - I think this was dealer option, I also have an 80s Civic steering wheel I can throw in if you want something more factory looking Upholstery - The interior is all original and is in beautiful condition. The seat facings are black and white houndstooth cloth, while the side bolsters and seat backs are black vinyl. No rips or tears anywhere. The dash is in great condition with no cracks.. Carpet is original with no tears or holes Convertible top: Manually operated vinyl top, no holes or rips. Could use a good scrubbing. Top seals nice and tight, and has a black vinyl padded boot when top is down. The rear window doesnt fit well - there is a zipper on either side of the glass rear window that must be unzipped when top is lowered, and the top portion of the window doesnt seal - there seems to be a missing piece of material Body: The body and underside are in excellent condition, aside from the following: 1) On both doors, there is some damage where the vent window meets the door. This is a weak spot in the design, The driver side is worse than passenger side. This will probably need to be fixed by a body shop (see pics). Also, on the front left fender, there are some small paint bubbles. Otherwise, there is no rust on the body or underneath. Paint: I'm almost certain the car was repainted in Japan before it was imported. The car may have been white as seen under the hood lid, and in the trunk, but there is a paint code label, which says 'Black'. Also, the car is missing the City Cabriolet decals on the trunklid and the side doors. On the trunklid, the previous owner added a "Jazz" badge from a newer Honda Jazz, (which is the name the City and the Fit were sold as in Europe) Send me a PM if you have any other questions and I will respond as soon as I can. The car drives great, really tight, precise non-power steering. The 1200 is no powerhouse. It was designed as a city car, so performance is very leisurely. Ive taken on a number of road trips, and it does fine on the highway. The best features are tight turning circle - easy to do a U-turn on 2 lane street, and the fuel economy is great - high 30s low 40s on highway$1000 deposit due within 48 hours, with balance due in 7 days. Buyer responsible for shipping. Car located in Oshkosh WI with clear title.
