Car description |
---|
This is a 1988 Honda DX Accord with a clear title.Engine and automatic transmission runs well with 101,512 miles.
Rust on sides at bottom and wheel wells.Has been a great car to drive, very reliable. Engine is a 2.0 L, 4- CYL. Engine has great acceleration, especially uphill.I had every intention of eventually restoring it, but it just wasn't happening. I wanted to eventually give it a green and black paint job and name it the "Green Hornet." It was on historical car insurance for that reason- to work on it gradually. When my VW died, the "Beige Bee" became my everyday car, and the extra miles were making my dream less of a reality. I got the pertinent stuff done, but my wife said it's time to move on, and I'm a good husband, so I'm moving on...
Rear brake cylinder just fixed. CV boot recently replaced. New headlight lamps. Fog lamps. Rear drivers' side tire replaced. New muffler. New wipers and tubes for wiper fluid replaced. Driver's side window crank replaced (broke in the summer- worst time for that to happen). Heater is nice and warm.
What it needs:
It runs well once it starts, but the choke plate is missing on the carburetor- this makes for a rough start. Every morning you set the choke, pump the gas pedal and by the 5th or 6th try, it starts. You warm it up about 5 to 10 minutes and it's a great ride all day. Needs a new choke plate or carburetor.
Needs AC recharge. When the headlight lamps were replaced, the driver side lamp, which was previously hardwired instead of plugged in, was rewired, but the high beam stays on for the drivers' side. The high beam indicator will come on automatically even though it's only on one head light. Driver's head light needs to be rewired.
Had been a daily runner. Got a newer car in October. It has a NY inspection through the end of August 2019.Free pickups only, if you supply a license plate, it will drive you back home no problem. It's a great car to drive, but needs a little work- Even better if you want it to be your classic car and restore it.
Cash or Cashier's check.I go by the honor system. I'm honest and I expect it in return. I don't require a deposit. If you bid and win, I expect you to honor your word and complete the sale.Good luck.
