1988 Honda Crx Si

Hello!
For Sale is a 1988 Honda CRX Si in bone-stock, mint condition.
Current odometer reading is 51,800. Originally from Washington state, this particular specimen was purchased brand new in cash (with dealer invoice as proof) on May 25, 1988 at Don Carlton Honda (now Honda of Kirkland) in Kirkland, Washington, by an transmission mechanic for his daughter as a graduation gift. Shortly after the purchase, he read an article saying the new lower glass was allegedly prone to injuring the occupants in the event of a rear-end collision, so the dad kept the CRX for himself. It stayed in his possession until 2014, when it was purchased by its second owner from the daughter for which it was purchased, as the dad had passed on. Full documentation of original 1988 sale including original window sticker and invoice that lists the stereo and floor mats as added accessories was included in that sale. This owner resides in Southern Oregon and is the current lien holder of the vehicle. He sold it to me in June of last year, but retains the title as I have a loan agreement with him. He has since given me permission to list and sell the vehicle as a broker for him, so any potential buyer should be aware that the vehicle is currently in Bakersfield, California, but will be receiving the title via certified mail from Medford, Oregon.
The vehicle is as clean as it gets. Every square inch is original rio red factory paint. All original body panels. All original glass panels. All original interior with no tears or cracks. Intact climate control panel. Original 1988 floor mats with CRX lettering intact. Original tape deck with original speakers (they work but have seen better days). Has the original OK label and the super-rare Motor Trend import Car of the Year sticker on the rear quarter windows. Slight blemishes can be seen on the hood where a leaf tannin stain was overzealously buffed. Slight ding thats extremely hard to see is on the passenger fender, this can be seen and noted in the video link below. Original exhaust, engine, radiator, timing belt (believe it or not). Only passenger front wheel has slight rash on it. All others clean. Michellin tires. All interior is present including the ash tray, cigarette lighter, OEM shift knob, clock, secret compartment, cargo assembly, cargo cover, OEM jack, OEM tool kit, OEM tire, never used. Only interior blemishes is the clear cover that covers the clock hours and minutes has snapped off (still in my possession), and the gentleman who was the first owner was a smoker, so during higher summer temperatures there is a slight smoke odor.
Not a single accident or fender bender, extremely low miles and very near museum quality. Extremely clean under carriage. Slight rust on moonroof, none on body.
Runs excellent. Light and responsive throttle, perfect clutch with no clicks or noises, shifts like butter. During tight curved turns such as on freeway on ramps the car sputters when there is low gas, which leads me to believe its a fuel pump/spark plug issue that should easily be fixed. Sunroof works perfectly. When I bought the car I drove it all the way back from Oregon to Central California and it drove like a dream. The only non-stock item on the entire car is the raised 1989-1991 SI emblem on the back- the OEM 88 is a flat sticker. No AC on the car, as it came from the factory that way. The car does not have maintenance documentation as the owner was a transmission mechanic and did his own oil changes. The following documentation will be included: Original sales receipt, window sticker owners manual, OEM shop manual, OEM electrical manual, warranty pamphlet, stereo code card, and of course the original 1988 sales brochure that has been protected in a plastic cover.
Buyer is responsible for shipping fees, but I will work with you if you wish to arrange for a truck to pick up the vehicle. You are responsible for the vehicle once it leaves my property. This vehicle is being sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied. The vehicle is also for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. No PayPal, payment must be made within 3 days via cash (ideally), or certified cashiers check.
The vehicle is currently registered and titled (clean) in Oregon.
You are unlikely to find nicer, more original 88 CRX Is (the lightest in weight and simplest of all model years) anytime soon.
