Car description

This is a solid car that has seen better days. At one time I think it was someone's Ricky Racer. I don't know much of its history but it spent most of its life in Tennessee. It has its bumps and thumps and at some time the hood, right front fender and front bumper cover have been replaced with black ones. The car runs and drives but it is a PROJECT CAR. You will be able to drive it up on a trailer or tow dolly but I wouldn't recommend just putting plates on it and driving it. I got it in a trade and it took a while for the previous owner to get the title to me. I lost what little interest I had in it and just want to move it to someone who wants one of these. It is rough and needs a LOT of work. However, for someone looking for a project with little to no rust, this is perfect.
Here is what I know it needs and general condition. I welcome a prospective buyer to look at the car in person.
The engine runs. That's about it. Decent power for a small engine but it has a NOISE in it. Due to hearing loss, I can't tell if it's a rod knock or a timing tensioner that is worn and loose. I'm assuming it's a rod knocking. This makes the car a great candidate for an engine swap. The battery was "borrowed" but I can pull one from something else to let you hear it run.
The transmission pulls good. It winds up high in first gear and I suspect the transmission has been flashed to get that. I don't know. It pulls good and once it shifts, shifts good.
The tires and brakes. Some pulsation to the brakes and it feels like warped rotors. The tires hold air, for a while. They are at the end of their service life.
Electrical. The previous owner said he hooked the battery up backwards when he got it. Since then, a lot of things don't work. I think the harness behind the dash cluster is fried. The windows and sun roof work fine. The headlights work and open and close fine. I'm not sure about the rest of the lights as I've never really driven the car since I got it.
Body. This is what I'm really selling. (The rest just comes with it.) Like I said before, it is solid. If there is any rust other than surface rust, I haven't seen it. There are scrapes and bumps here and there. Besides the different front end parts, the drivers door doesn't want to close all the way. Underneath is clean although there is evidence of driving over things as kids are wont to do. I did the same thing a long time ago when I started driving. (Yes, we had cars then, we didn't even have to crank them by hand.) The body is NOT ready to just sand and spray. It shouldn't be too bad though.
Interior. It's in fair condition. The seats are decent and the back seat folds down. The previous owner was a heaver smoker and it still smells a bit like it. No radio and the speaker holes are empty. I think everything is there but I rarely fool with imports and this is the first one of these I've had.
I will not deliver but I will help you load it onto your trailer or tow dolly. I do NOT recommend driving it very far. Vehicle and title do not leave my possession until payment is made in full. I have an open Kentucky title and Bill of Sale from the previous owner. Fill in your information, find a notary and you're good to go.
