Car description

Tired of paying high gas prices for you guzzler, ut can't afford a new hybrid? Well, ack in 1989 Honda was already producing cars that could go over 50mpg on the highway...and this one still does! This is a true CRX HF. They were built by Honda to maximize gas mileage, ith a special version of the 1.5 liter motor and a transmission geared high. At 70 mph, he engine is turning just over 2000 rpm. It gets far better mileage than either the Si or DX models of CRX. A stock CRX HF is very rare these days. This is a relatively stock CRX HF. Most HFs were turned into boy racers or race cars because they were so light and easy to swap engines into. One reason they were so light was that Honda left out extra weight items like A/C, lectric windows and power steering. This car has none of those items. The bad news: At one time (before I owned it) it was in a fender-bender. After replacing the headlights, he driver fender is the only part that shows ripples. Everything else is as you would expect of a car its age or better. The good news: This one is pure stock with the following exceptions:
  • Aftermarket headlights (much brighter than stock)
  • Honda Civic bucket seats (from the 2000s--much more comfortable)
  • Pioneer DEH-P4300 stereo
  • Black Interior
In addition, have done a ton of work on this car (and have receipts for all of the following), ncluding
  • Timing belt, ater pump replaced (126K miles)
  • replaced catalytic converter and muffler
  • hatchback lifts
  • electrical system
  • two new tires
  • new starter
  • new alternator
  • new distributor
  • front and rear brakes
  • new brake master cylinder
Recent test shows 180 psi on all cylinders. This is a great college car because it'll save you money and move everything back and forth to the dorms. The lowest mpg I've gotten on this car is 35mpg in the city. I have regularly seen over 50mpg on long freeway trips. The car corners like a go-kart and is fun to drive. It also has cavernous space for luggage. I regularly carried an entire middle school band's equipment in it, ncluding keyboards, rums, nd guitars, nd still had room for a passenger! I couldn't carry that much in cars that are much bigger! Finally, t is almost impossible to get this kind of gas mileage in a reliable car for under $5000 anywhere else. Car is for sale locally, o I reserve the right to terminate the auction early in case it sells.
