1989 GMC Sierra 1500 ......... I bought this truck around 3-4 yrs ago and slowly built it up to what it is . I need to buy a new family vehicle soon so it regrettably needs to go :( . Its a simple old school carbed 350 roller motor , 700r non computer controlled mild hot rod combo. Its not perfect at 31 yrs old but a really good starting point for someone to paint and take to the next show level. It sounds great with its 272 cam and Flowmaster 40 series. Its non computer controlled 700r has a corvette servo, mild stall converter and new front and rear seals. I get constant thumbs up at stop lights more than any other rod I have owned over the years as people apparently love these older GMC / Chevrolet shortbed trucks. The following parts list was used .....Rebuilt 350 roller shortblock (+.060) New Comp Extreme 4 x 4 272 .474 .474 111 roller camshaf, New Summit Vortec heads, New Summit Air Gap intake, New Summit HV mechanical fuel pump, New Street Demon Carb, New Melling HP SV oil pump, New Oil pan, New ac compressor, New ~ 2500 stall torque converter, New HD water pump, New HD fan clutc, New battery, New Alternato, New power steering hose, New Upper and lower radiator hoses, New factory 3 " tailpipe assembl, New front shocks, New plastic hood cowl panel, GMC overhead console,New Bosch water temp gage under dash, New tach on column, GMC dash cup holder, Stereo with bluetooth phone interface mic etc, New bed cover, bed mat .New leds in gauge cluster . Temp, oil pressur, voltage gages work . New wiper controller .New front grill and GMC emblem. New mirrors . New serpentine belt, Centerline look alike wheel, Cooper tires are decent but used ........ and the list goes on . I would rather tell someone of every single thing that needs to be fixed that I know of rather than have any surprises upon delivery. This is at the risk of turning people off but thats what I would want someone to do for me . Here is what I believe the truck needs to be a show winner ......Paint job is a 5 footer - the body and frame "appears" to be serious rust free but the paint is nicked in several places and the roof has had a really lousy respray done to it . Appears to have been a Florida truck almost all its life . Again it looks great from 5 ft away (constant thumbs up from people ) but it has defects . The passenger front fender has a very slight crease which you can see when the light hits it just right . Hood clear coat is damaged in one spot from bird poop it looks like. Bottom line It all needs to be blocked and repainted IMO . Gas gauge doesnt work. Headlight switch works fine but it looks like maybe someone broke the hidden mounting ears off behind the switch possibly ..Cruise unit is there but not connected to the carb conversion .....electric locks currently do not work ...electric windows do work. Sliding rear tinted window lock latch is missing. Front timing cover to oil pan seal has developed a light intermittent weep .. . Electric choke is disabled (Florida) ..give it two pump, hold the pedal about 30% of the way dow, start i, hold 1200 rpm for 45 seconds warmup , let it go and the rumpety rump idle will hold its own after that. Heater core is not connected (Florida). Bed has what appears to be a gooseneck trailer hole in the bed ~ 10 inch circle . The rigid factory rubber bed mat covers it and doesnt effect hauling activities . Bed additionally has spray bedliner in it. I have a piece of correct sheetmetal to fix it that I will include if you want. New compressor is loud and the ac is typical 80's tech (marginal cooling) but "works" . Interior has a few tiny holes in the seat, carpet too but looks good - see defect pics, dash is in really great shape for 31 yrs old. . This is a good hot rod starting point for someone to take to the next level. Its not perfect . Fine print - not responsible for failing emissions or inspections etc ....
