Car description

Super clean and ready to rock, this 1984 GMC 1500 Restomod pickup is a fun cruiser that's also extremely practical. With a modern 5.3 liter Vortec V8 with fuel-injection, it's plenty sporty, but it's also capable of hauling the big loads when you need it. If ever there was a time to make your hobby vehicle do double duty, it's today, and this sinister dark gray pickup is as at home at the cruise night as it is at the... garden center. Trucks are a booming segment of the hobby, and bring a reasonable price of admission for the amount of power and style they can supply. However, the flip side is that finding a good, clean truck that hasn't been worked to within an inch of its life can be challenging. It appears that this truck has never been a work vehicle, and the condition of the super straight bodywork, particularly the bed, bears this out. With factory-quality gaps and panel alignment throughout, it has probably never had a major accident or any substantial bodywork, and the paint quality suggests that someone truly loved this truck. You won't be sneaking around with that slick Dark Gray Metallic paint, but it stands up to scrutiny and really shows well, especially when under the lights or out in the sunshine. For a custom look, the grille is from an '89-'91 Blazer spec with a blacked-out insert, the rear bumper was deleted and a roll pan was integrated and painted to match, and a tonneau cover over the bed was installed for an uber-clean look. The glass is new and tinted, all the weather-stripping is new, and every bit of the chrome and bright work was replaced, including the shiny bumper up front that look great up against the dark paint. It also offers a bed that's been lightly dusted with a spray-in protectant, so if you actually want to use this GMC like a truck on the weekends, you won't have to hesitate. The black interior is fully restored and upgraded as well, including a custom split-bench seat with ultraleather upholstery with cloth inserts, new door panels, plush black carpets, a custom center console with wooden cup holders, and a very luxurious attitude. The seats are firm and comfortable, and the commanding view from the cockpit is one that many folks appreciate only after they've experienced a full-sized truck. In fact, almost all of the interior is fresh, making this feel much more modern inside. That's ultraleather wrapped around the dash, Dakota Digital gauges inside a bright metal bezel, and you'll note that this truck is equipped with power windows and locks, a tilt wheel, R134a A/C, as well as an aftermarket AM/FM/CD/AUX stereo system that sounds great. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is another slick aftermarket part, but thanks to the use of all those upgraded components inside, it looks right at home. Modern and comfortable, the cab of this GMC is a great place to be. Power comes from a rugged, built 5.3 liter Vortec V8 that's reported to be rated at 400+ horsepower, and which has been a mainstay in pickups for quite a while. Neatly transplanted for better than OEM functionality, it actually looks like it was born in there. The engine bay is detailed beautifully, with polished aluminum on the valve covers and that slick intake manifold, all of which really pop out against the smooth firewall and inner fenders that are painted glass black. With fuel injection, it starts quickly and runs beautifully and can be serviced at any Chevy dealer with no issues at all. A 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission was also transplanted in, and power steering and power front disc brakes mean this truck is a blast to drive. And thanks to the overdrive transmission, this is a nice highway cruiser that gets surprisingly good gas mileage for a full-sized pickup. Underneath, the chassis is very well finished and detailed, with ceramic-coated long-tube headers feeding a dual exhaust and throaty Flowmaster mufflers that give it a fantastic soundtrack. The suspension is lowered to give it that aggressive rake, which really emphasizes those flashy American Racing Torque Thrust wheels and 295/50/15 Cooper Cobra performance radials. Trucks like this frame-off restored GMC represent a fantastic way to get into the hobby, and this one is ready to cruise today. It's heavily modified without being too obvious about it, the interior is incredibly comfortable, and you just can't beat a fuel-injected GM motor for reliability. Call today!
