This is your chance to own a full multi car hauler from the late 40s early 50s. The truck is a 1949 GMC 640. It is very very solid, no rust. We pulled the 500 cubic inch gas motor and installed a 5.9 Cummins 12V from a 1993 Dodge 350 with 130K miles on the clock. Non intercooled. We mated that up to an Eaton 6 speed from an F600 with new clutch. The truck is an air ride truck and all the brakes work well. She fires right up every time with tap of the key. The tires are showing signs of dry cracks, but I drove the truck and trailer thru town a few times with no trouble.
The trailer is super cool and rare. This trailer in particular was used to move Kaisers from the manufacture to the dealers in Illinois. It still has some of the original Kaiser logos on the side panel, and the original slogan is still painted on the side of the trailer. "Americas Most Copied Carâ€. After I bought the trailer, I heard from the guy who used to use it to move those cars....The trailer has a 1964 Cadillac on the top that comes with the deal if you want it. It has been gutted of all its interior and motor and trans. The trailer is showing some signs of rot on the bottom panels, but the uprights are all solid.
This is a really hard rig to get full pictures of. She is so long. Send me a message and I will post the video of me driving it.
I drove this entire set up thru my town a few times and I have a video of that happening. I have had many cool and unique old cars in my life, but his one takes the cake. Would be just the thing to move your vintage cars to the cars shows, or the best billboard in the business! No better attention getter. I get people stop and take pictures all day long when she is parked in front of my shop.
Dont let this opportunity pass you buy. I have seen a few of these trucks and trailers as yard art, but fewer are driving operational trucks. Hard to find one at this price that you can drive today....I know thee are a ton of things I forgot. Please email with questions or Texxt ate for five 4one sixx seven for nine six. I can also help with shipping. I moved the trailer on the back of my 36 foot deckover from Illinois, and move the truck the same way. Shipping is not as hard as you might think....
