1962 GMC Suburban

Less than 3,500 Miles since built

This Suburban runs and drives great. I am not afraid to drive it anywhere. I have taken it on Missions Trips and run all over with it. It never fails to draw attention wherever I go. It has been my shop/work truck for the last year and a half. I use it to haul lumber, parts, and whatever else I need to. It has never been meant to be a show truck. Yes it has some scratches, chips, burnt edges and stories. Still enough left to be done to personalize it and make it your own.

The Good:

Driveline:

5.3 liter LS Carbureted and MSD Controlled Motor has less than 10,000 miles on it.

GM 5 speed Custom Shifter Knob which is Scharpe HVLP Spray Gun.

Shortened and Balanced Drive Shaft

Original Rear End and gears from when it had the big V6 in it

Stainless headers and 2.5 exhaust with x pipe

New Lowering Springs for rear

Old aluminum slot rims and newer tires

Body and Paint:

Some rust but installed new patch panels

Base Coat Clear Coat 2000 GMC Victory Red and Chrysler Cool Vanilla which has

been sanded and buffed and looks amazing.

All New Tinted Glass and seals all around

Interior:

Original Front Seat covered with Loves Truck Stop Blankets

4 Seats from Dodge Caravan

Heater controller has broken selectors that is why they are not installed.

Several other parts are available to go with it.

The BAD:
Runs a little rich needs smaller jets in carburetor.
Some Scratches, dings, and chips. It has been used and enjoyed for almost 2 years.
Passenger door latch is not working well and I am ordering one to replace it.No radio and the heater controller is not in the vehicles since some of the levers are broken.I have not replaced the rubber matting or carpeted it.Wipers are not working at this time. If I have time to mess with them I will see if I can get them working. I never drove it in the rain since I got it on the road. No Promises.
It needs a few seals installed around rear doors.
It has drum brakes all the way around and stops like a 62 Suburban.No power steering but since I replaced the Big V6 with the 5.3 LS it is so light in the front it steers easily.
It has a new tilt column and the old steering wheel which does not cancel the turn signal so that function is manual.
No Gas Pedal, just the arm which has worn a little hole in my flip flop;)Could use some new shocks as it floats down the road like a lowered 62 Suburban.

PRICE: I have set what I feel is a fair reserve on the vehicle. If you are the lucky bidder to win this old girl you will need to contact me within 24 hours and make arrangements for a non-refundable deposit of $500. The rest of the money is to be handed to me in CASH when you pick it up. If you wish to use a Bank Draft or Cashiers Check, the truck will not move from my possession until my banker is satisfied and it has cleared all hoops. Then you can pick it up. Nope, I won't ship it. This is an AS IS SALE. IT IS AN ALL SALES FINAL SALE. I recommend you come look at it in Lanark Illinois 61046 before you buy it. Once the gavel falls you own this gem. I have described it accurately, both good and bad. You will enjoy finishing and making her your own as much as I have had getting her this far.

If it does not meet my reserve at the end of the auction, then and only then will I will consider cash and trades of equal value. The only two vehicles I would be willing to entertain as a trade are complete and running 2 door 55 Chevy's or 67 Nova's that are solid projects. Not rust buckets. Any questions feel free to call.
