Car description

1985 GMC Vandura Conversion Van, 26,339 miles, Original Condition in pristine shape. I bought this van a couple of years ago and have used it as a fun cruiser. I had owned a few of these vans back in the 80's and early 90's when I traveled more and have been a fan of them ever since. I bought the van from the second owner who used it for much the same reason I did. He was from a small town and only ever used the van for special occasions or the rare weekend drive.
Nice vans like these are getting harder and harder to find as most of them are either rusty, high miled, heavily used, or a combination of all three. You can see from the pictures how well taken care of this van has been. The previous owner stated that he never drove it out of season and that was true of the original owner as well. (something that I believe as there is not much to fault on this van).
The paint retains a great shine, with all stainless trim, body striping, and moldings being in great shape as well. The interior is still full of color and has no major rips, tears, or wear. The wood paneling has held up well over the years and (while definitely showing its 80's style!) has no cracking, peeling, or warping that I can find. The carpet is also is wonderful shape with the only even notable wear being in the driver footwell. (but as you can see from the pictures it is hard to call "wear".
Mechanically speaking, the van runs and drives great! I have had no issues with the van during my ownership and have kept up on all services and maintenance in regards to both time past and miles added. I had to track down a few fuses when I bought it, put new tires on it, and had it fully detailed and buffed which really put it on its toes. However, other than those minor Items, I haven't had to touch or add anything. I know the center caps have Chevrolet emblems on them. The gentleman that I bought the van from replaced some aftermarket dated mag style wheels that were on the van with some factory type oem style wheels with beauty rings (something that I would have done as well) however, he said that the GMC logoed wheels were much harder to find in a complete set so he just bought the chevy ones that were exactly the same bar the logo. Buying some small GMC center caps from any of the GMC Vans/Truck of this era would work, just an item that I never got around to doing.
I am selling the van because available space is becoming my enemy and I need the room. I recently bought a different fun weekend car (much smaller) but not small enough to warrant keeping the van in the garage, something that I don't drive nearly enough to keep to begin with. Please message me with any questions and I would be happy to answer them. The car is located in SE South Dakota, only a couple hours drive from either Minneapolis MN, or Omaha NE.
