THIS IS A GOOD RUNNING SOLID CALIFORNIA TRUCK THAT IS IN HIGH DEMAND, PERFECT TO CUSTOMIZE THE WAY YOU WANT OR DO A LITTLE UPGRADING AND FLIP FOR A PROFIT.
TRUCK RUNS AND DRIVES WELL. TRANSMISSION IS TIGHT AND SHIFTS AS IT SHOULD WITH NO ISSUES. ENGINE HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED WITH REGULAR OIL CHANGES. TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN USED MUCH THE LAST 10 YEARS BUT WAS RUN AT LEAST ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK FOR A FEW MILES. WE DID A COMPRESSION TEST OF THE CYLINDERS ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND THEY WERE ALL IN NORMAL LIMITS. DOES NOT SEEM TO BURN OIL OR SMOKE. CARBURETOR DOES SEEM LIKE IT IS SET A LITTLE RICH AND SHOULD BE ADJUSTED BUT ITS NOT A PROBLEM. IT HAS A SMALL EXHAUST LEAK FROM EITHER THE JOINT AT MANIFOLD AT EXHAUST PIPE OR THE MANIFOLD GASKET, HARD TO TELL. IT DOES GET QUIETER ON WARM UP. NOT VERY LOUD AT ALL.
NEW BATTERY, RADIATOR FLUSH AND FLUID, AND OIL CHANGE ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO. TRUCK LEAVES NO OIL OR FLUIDS ON THE GROUND AT ALL WHEN PARKED.
VERY LITTLE RUST ON THE ENTIRE TRUCK. PICTURES SHOW WHAT THERE IS, VERY LIGHT AND NO BIG PROBLEM AREAS.
SUSPENSION LOOKS TO BE ORIGINAL OR OLDER REPLACEMENT AND DRIVES FINE BUT NEW SHOCKS WOULD CERTAINLY BE HELPFUL OR A CUSTOM SUSPENSION. THE STANCE OF THE TRUCK LOOKS GREAT AND IS A HIGHLY DESIRABLE LOOK.
THE PAINT WAS FADED BY THE SUN IN SOME AREAS LIKE THE HOOD AND BED SIDES AND HAS THE NICE PATINA THAT MANY PEOPLE LIKE. WE WORKED IT WITH A CLAY BAR ABOUT 10 DIFFERENT SESSIONS AND REMOVED THE DIRT AND IMPURITIES. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF RE-HYDRATING THE PAINT WITH THE CORRECT PAINT OILS WITH MAGUIRE'S #7. THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS HAD THE MOST APPLICATIONS AND HAS COME BACK NICELY. WE ARE STILL WORKING ON THE HOOD AND DRIVERS SIDE SO YOU MAY SEE A WET STREAKING LOOK IN THE PICS. WE WILL CONTINUE WITH A FEW MORE APPLICATIONS TO GET IT LOOKING AS GOOD AS POSSIBLE. THE NEXT STEP WOULD BE TO APPLY A HIGH QUALITY CARNAUBA WAX OR SIMILAR.
THE PAINT CAN BE LEFT AS IT IS, CLEAR COATED, OR OF COURSE THE TRUCK CAN BE FULLY REPAINTED.
TRUCK HAS 4 ALUMINUM WHEELS, A SPARE IS ON IT BUT WE HAVE THE 4TH MATCHING WHEEL WITH THE TRUCK. THE UNDER BED SPARE TIRE HANGAR IS INCLUDED AND IS BEHIND THE DRIVERS SEAT AS THE SPARE IS ON THE TRUCK.
THE TIRES ARE OLD AND SHOW SUN DAMAGE, WE HAVE NOT REPLACED THEM AS ITS A PERSONAL CHOICE WE WANTED TO LEAVE UP TO THE NEXT OWNER. THESE TIRES SHOULD PROBABLY NOT BE DRIVEN ON FAR OR AT HIGH SPEEDS DUE TO THEIR AGE.
TRUCK HAS AIR CONDITIONING BUT IT DOES NOT BLOW COLD. COMPRESSOR APPEARS TO WORK SO IT MAY JUST NEED REFRIGERANT.
DUAL GAS TANKS AND THE SWITCH TO CHANGE TANKS WORKS. LIGHTS WORK. BRAKES STOP THE TRUCK FINE BUT WE WOULD SUGGEST NEW PADS OR AN INSPECTION, OR AN UPGRADE. ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS AND WINDOWS WORK. PASSENGER DOOR NEEDS A WINDOW SWITCH BUT OPERATES FROM DRIVERS SIDE. DRIVERS SIDE MIRROR IS CRACKED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, A CHEAP AND EASY FIX. WINDSHIELD HAS A SMALL CIRCULAR HALF INCH SIZED CHIP NEAR THE BOTTOM.
BED HAS A PLASTIC LINER IN GOOD SHAPE. TAIL GATE OPERATES AS IT SHOULD.
THIS IS A VERY NICE SOLID TRUCK THAT COULD BE RESTORED FAIRLY EASILY AND BE WORTH WELL OVER $20K OR JUST GIVEN A LITTLE LOVE AND KEPT IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION. WE HATE TO PART WITH IT BUT WE HAVE TOO MANY VEHICLES NOW. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IN THIS SURVIVOR.
