This example was made in March 1987 in GM’s Flint, Michigan factory.Finished in Medium Garnet Red (code 75) with Tan inserts (code 60) and Victory Red accent stripes, the truck’s paint and trim are in overall excellent original condition. There are a few blemishes on the leading edge of the hood, as one should expect from a 31-year-old vehicle that has been driven but taken cared of.The Suburban’s bodywork is straight, the engine bay is extremely tidy, the battery appears new, the chrome bumpers look fantastic, the cargo area is in very good condition. The Suburban has a 40-gallon fuel tank, which translates to a superlative cruising range on the highway between fill-ups. According to Chevrolet, the Suburban held up to nine passengers and had almost 41 cubic feet of space behind the third row of seats. With the second-row seat folded and third-row seat removed, it swallowed 167 cubic feet of stuff and boasted a 3,911-pound payload.This Suburban rolls on Uniroyal Laredo radials, size 235/75R15 at all four corners. Each one surrounds a factory, vented rally wheel. The tires are in good condition while the wheels are in very good order.Under the hood is a 350 CID (5.7L) V-8 with throttle-body fuel injection (TBI) (code L05), a 94-amp generator and a heavy-duty cooling system. The motor is linked to a Turbo Hydramatic 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission (code MD8). Driver convenience features include air-conditioning, cruise control, tilt steering column, power steering and power brakes.Inside, the Dark Maple interior is in overall excellent condition. The front bench seat and 80/20 split rear seat are in near-excellent order. The matching carpet is in matching condition. The headliner also looks good. The two-spoke steering wheel is in better-than-average shape, as is the instrument panel with its complete array of gauges. The inner door liners, with front map pockets, echo the rest of the interior’s condition. The truck also comes with electric clock and cigarette lighter.
