Car description |
---|
Great project truck and parts deal. One of these trucks is a 1946 GMC which was damaged in a road crash seven years ago but was running well to that point. The engine is original and intact. The other truck is a 1947 GMC and had engine trouble so was being rebuilt; most of the engine is in the bed of the truck. Both of these trucks originally came with identical 228 engines, making them interchangeable. So if you are looking to restore to original condition a great old truck, the engine from the ’46 could be used in the ’47 and everything else parted out and sold to help pay for the rest.
The 1946 Serial number and model is EC102 4680 and the 1947 is FC101 20891. This is what would be known today as the VIN. It indicates that they are both half ton pick-ups, both with 228 engines, the 1946 (the crashed truck) had a 115 inch wheel base and the 1947 has a 116 wheel base. Both of them still have their original transmissions.
If you are seriously interested, I will answer any questions I can, get more pictures, or whatever else is needed. These trucks are without titles and naturally come with no warranty; price is as is where is. They are located in Las Vegas, NV and if transportation is needed, I will try to help from here.
