1994 GMC 3500 4x4 Crew Cab with 5.9 Cummins 12V Diesel conversion
First off, this is still a bit of a project truck. Do not buy planning on taking 1000 mile trip with out doingsome work first. The hard part is done but does need some finishing touches. Read complete description and make sure you understand everything before bidding !
The body & frame are in very good shape. I was told truck was from Washington state and it had no rust anywhere when I purchased it 3 yrs ago.
Engine, transmission& transfer case are from an 1989 Dodge that I was told had about 130,000 miles - I didn't see it and really have no idea actual miles. It is mechanical 12V (no computer), 5 speed Getrag transmission and a 3 speed Brownie box . It's currently setup as 10 speed using direct & overdrive on the Brownie. If you wanted to use the underdrive linkage would need make & hooked up. Brownie box is behind transfer case so overdrive side of itcan only be used in 2 wheel drive. Has Dana 60 front axle (axle are 4:10 gears). They did conversion in non typical way - they cut Dodge frame behind transfer and GMC frame behind front axle near crush boxes and slid Dodge frame inside GMC frame and mated them together. Although probably not the way I'd have done it, it did solve a lot problems with doing conversion and looks like a pretty good job and I've haven't had any problems with it. If you are not okay with frames being mated in this matter don't bid !
Truck runs and drives and I do use it when needed but does have a driveline noise that I believe is coming from Brownie box as it changes depending what gear it's in and input side bearing has a little play. Wiring needs gone over and finished up. They did a hack job on wiring and I was going to get another harness and start over. Fuelgagedoe not work, has gps speedometer, air conditioner not there, probably going to need steering column replaced and drivers seat is broken and needs replaced or welded / fixed.
Truck is sold 100% as-is,where-is. NO warranty of any kind. True miles unknown.
Please do not bid if not going to follow through. I'll answer serious questions as best as I can but I'm not looking to teach anyone how to build their truck and I didn't do it so I really can't. Selling because it no longer fits my needs and I don't have the time & ambition to do work needed. It's a fun truck to drive and gets a lot of attention wherever it goes it just needs somebody with time or finances to finish it up.
Must be paid & picked up within 7 days of end of auction. I will not ship unless you make all needed arrangements to have it picked up at my location and onlyafter all paperwork is done & payment has cleared. It has clear PA title that will have to transferred before it leaves here. Do your homework and check with whomever needed to make sure you can pay for and have it before bidding ! Serious buyer is welcome to come look at it and check out in person but no joy rides or time wasters.
