As you can see from the photos -- from the body and interior to the engine compartment and undercarriage -- this unrestored Suburban has obviously been treated with the care and respect GM's flagship SUV deserved. Take your time and view all the photos I've made available, because the more you look at them the more I think you will be impressed and perhaps even a little astounded ata twenty-eight year old truck in this condition. That's not to say that other Suburbans haven't survived in this spectacular condition, but they are truly members of a small fraternity of vehicles that have been blessed with ownership so meticulous and caring that they survive today more closely resembling showroom condition than any but our wildest expectations would dare imagine.
This Suburbanalso hasa pretty unusualblend offactory options. If you want to move gear and people in unique style, look no further. This big SUV came equipped with a 5.7 liter V8 mated to a four speed automatic transmission (recently rebuilt and still under warranty), RWD drivetrain, AM/FM stereo, cruise, power windows, power locks, a stainless steel exhaust system, AND the following: - Front and rear A/C (blows cold) - Heavy Duty Trailering Special Equipment - Electric Tailgate Window - Rally Wheels (that accommodate larger tires) - 40 gallonoptional fuel tank (HWY range of 760 miles) - CB Radio
If somebody wanted to move people and gear and tow a boat or a trailer, they wanted to do it in a rig like this one. And with a conceivable fuel range of 760 miles, you could cover massive distances withoutworrying about the finding a gas station. Bring enough food and water and camping gear and you could literally cross several states with a sense of freedom and adventure difficult to match. Can you imagine the transformative experience of trekking across the western US and the Rockies in this luxury beast? This Suburban sits eight or nine comfortably and I bet it sleeps six in style. Its not hard to see why these GMC's have become icons.
I did a 300 mile jaunt in this Suburban and had a great time with the cruise set and the stereo catching some great stations along the way. I've loved and collected classic cars since purchasing my first car -- a 1969 Dodge Charger -- backwhen I was just a kid practically. (I still own it.) Just like most lifelong obsessions, this lita spark that I've carried with meup to today. Even when I was studyingin England, where American muscle cars and boulevard cruisers are as rare as uncut gems, the lure of steel and displacement still drew me tothose great big cars and trucks when they chanced to surface. A classic Camaro withbig tires and an aggressive rake was something truly sublimeprowlingamongst the cobblestones and antiquity of that great old town where I was holed up chasing a degree.. So I am an Oxford-educated motorhead that's been totally unable to get cars ourof his system, and who'd want to anyway? Its finding special ones like this Suburban make this the best hobby imaginable and one that is its own reward. And this generation Suburban is only going tobecome more desirable and sought after as the years go by and their cool factor continues to intensify. And this one has the added spark of a great backstory. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks again for viewing this 1989 GMC Suburban SLE.I've included photos of the original window sticker, so check them out. I also have the original owner's manual. This vehicle is sold "as is, where is" with no warranty expressed or implied. Buyer is responsible to all shipping arrangements and costs.
