1978 GMC Vandura LRP Camper. V8-350 5.7L. Rare Original Paint! Vintage USA!

Rare LRP Camper edition. Rare original beautiful vintage '70's paint. Great condition. Amazing for summer restoration project. Wonderful fun camper. 12 window, Tons of natural light.
Van was rescued from a barn in Amity, Oregon. She sat there for 8 years. Belonged to the local sheriff who passed away. Dropped in new battery, started first crank! I've been restoring. Using as Summer camper. Ran beautiful. Major power. Tracked straight as an arrow. Good brakes. Not a single leak. Good power steering. Most comfortable bed! Sink and fridge excellent. Was literally like going back in time. Just like going with grandma and grandpa camping in the '70s and '80s. Emotional experience every time I took her out. A world now gone, but with this I van I was teleported back in time. lol!
Was returning from Tillamook Forest (02.25.18) camping and started making a loud engine knock sound. Overheated. Had towed back home. Mechanic friend says ROD KNOCK. Needs complete engine rebuild. I love the van, not enough time, tools or workshop to complete restoration. Van has been parked since tow.
