Car description

Ok so here we have a 1972 GMC Jimmy for your consideration. This is a very nice clean turn key driving truck that can be enjoyed for many years to come just the way it is. I am going to describe this truck in detail as I do all of the Blazers and Jimmy's I've sold on here in the past. So please bear with me.This GMC still wears most of it's original paint that it left thee factory with 46 years ago. I have spent countless hours buffing, polishing and waxing this truck inside and out. There was a little rust in the normal spots, though quite minimal compared to most of these K5's. It has all since been properly fixed. The fenders, cargo floor, core support, cowl, windshield frame, rocker boxes, cab supports are all rust free and always have been. I have touched up the repaired areas with an air brush using the original color formula in PPG. The truck is very straight. Clearly it has had good drivers throughout it's life. Of course there are a few dings here and there but nothing big. I see no evidence that this truck has ever been in a collision. All body panels appear to be original to the truck.I have been through this Jimmy fixing and replacing everything I thought it needed. I have went out of my way to maintain as much originality as I could. If there was hardeware missing or that had been replaced with screws from the hardeware stores over the years, I've replaced these with correct parts and hardeware. I have parts Blazers and lots of parts I've collected over the years that come in handy for this. After an extensive cleaning and detailing throughout, I ended up replacing all of the lower woodgrain trim, the tailgate banner, upper tailgate trim, grille surround eyebrow moldings, upper grille tie bar trim, rear sport bumper, taillight bezels, side marker lights, etc. Pretty much everything else on the outside of the truck is oem and didn't need replacing. If it needed it, it was replaced, repaired or restored. The tires are brand new BF Goodrich 33x10.50x15 All terrain TAKO 2's. These are an awesome looking and performing tire. They are mounted on original K5 stock steel wheels, with a mint original set of 4 hubcaps. They look fabulous! The interior has received all new ACC molded carpet front to back that looks and fits as good or better than the original carpet did. I also added a new set of reproduction original style floor mats. New dash pad, door arm rests are new, rear carpet hold down strips are new also. Besides that most of the interior is original and the components are nice. The seats are the best set of originals i've ever seen in person. No they are not perfect and they do have cracks and wear but they have never been redone. They look like most seats did in these when they were 10 years old. all date code stickers are still in place. seats mounts, sliders, latches all work as new. The console is original and is one of the cleanest i've had. The lid has virtually no wear. Door panels are crack free and nice. anyway you get the point. The top is as clean and damage free as one could ask for. No cracks, chips, repairs at all. The original texture and paint is still in place. It's as virgin as you'll see. I've replaced most of the top seals with new. As well as the door opening weatherstrips. The hatch has a few hairline cracks and a few small chunks broke on the bottom outer edge. But overall is in good shape and far above average. All hardeware is there and functions as it should. All glass throughout the truck is original Softray other than the windshield. The engine is the original the best I can tell. It is date coded 12-1971. I have no idea what kind of internal work it's had done over the years but it fires rite up and runs great. It has the original Q-jet carb which is now rebuilt, air cleaner, ram horn manifolds, heat shield, heat pipe, etc. etc. all in place. The distributor has been ungraded to a big cap HEI for reliability, so no more points. I also changed the fan belts, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, all that stuff. It has a brand new battery, cables etc. The battery box is original and rust free. The original hold down is in place and works. The motor runs cool, starts rite up, everythings good there. Trans works fantastic, no issues. 4x4 works in all gears, everythings there. I should mention, the jimmy has power steering, power disk brakes, TH350 trans, the heater and defrost works great, the controller has never been broken, speedometer works, turn signals, marker lights, brake lights, headlights, high and low beam work. I've replaced about every bulb in the truck. even the under dash lights come on when you open the doors. No just to be clear, this truck might not be for everyone. As you can see in the pictures, the paint is thin in places, you won't win best of paint at your car show. It's not perfect, it's just a good old 1972 Jimmy that i've enjoyed resurrecting to it's former glory. I have used as little Chinese aftermarket junk on this truck as possible. You can throw your fishing poll and tent in the back and head for the hills. If it gets rained on it's not the end of the world. If you want a "perfect" Blazer there are plenty out there for a lot more money than this one will go for. I do have a reserve on it but it's low. It's on here to sell, not to sit on eBay for weeks or months with a big stupid price on it.Please ask any and all questions before you bid! Bidding on an item on eBay is the same as being at a live auction. If you win, you own it. Most of the Blazers and Jimmy's I sell on here never make it to the end of the auction. So if you want to own this truck, make me an offer. I reserve the rite to end the auction early. The buyer is responsible for any and all shipping charges. All frame, body, glovebox vin numbers match. I have a clean title in hand for it. Again feel free to ask any questions. I'm sure i am forgetting to mention a lot of things i've done to this truck but you get the point. Thanks for looking

I thought of a few other things I should mention. The Jimmy drives down the interstate at 70 mph just fine. It goes straight, and stops straight. The fuel gauge works when it feels like it. Sometimes the needle goes to the 3 o'clock position, sometimes it works accurately. The truck also has new sport mirrors, new rear view mirror, the wheel bearings up front have been re packed with new seals, the exhaust is in good shape, no leaks, the hood, cowl panel, doors, fenders and quarters are all very nice and straight also.
