This 1972 GMC Suburban is Southern California truck that received a complete frame off restoration a few years ago. It is reliable as the day is long and ready to cruise or take to local shows where it has proven to bring home hardware.The body did not require the extensive work that most old vehicles require as it was solid through and through. After it was stripped to bare metal, and the usual block sanding, it received a brand new base/clear paint job then flamed with a candy brandy wine from house of colors. All rubber trim was replaced along with new tented glass all away around. The undercarriage is finished is in a durable charcoal powder coat finish while the suspension was upgraded with AirTech air ride and 14" Willwood brakes on all four corners. Custom modifications include one piece front windows, Lexus side mirrors, Honda Accord door handles, Hummer H2 rear tail lights and a custom grill insert. The side markers and bumpers were shaved and smoothed.Power comes from a 468 big block roller motor with Edelbrock aluminum heads fueled by Accel's Ram Air Induction system which sits in a nicely finished and detailed engine compartment. The inner fenders have been finished in house of colors flames as well as much of the engine components painted in the body color. The transmission is 4L80E and shifts smoothly through the gears using a HMS controller and the rear end is a Curry 9" posi with 31 spline axels. The Bonspeed 22" wheels are raped with Toyo tires which fit the wheel wells perfectly.The interior was created by the famed Gabe Lopez (from American Hot Rod) using 1996 Suburban interior components wherever possible. The seats were reshaped and covered with light and dark gray leather and gray suede inserts. Door panels and a suede head liner were beautifully sculpted to match while air vents and consoles were seamlessly blended into the design. The gauges were custom made by Classic Instruments with a gray finish and red markers to match the interior of the truck. The sound system is a Sony touch screen unit sporting AM/FM, CD, DVD, and GPS capabilities. The 10 speakers and 2 600 watt amplifiers are all Eclipse components including the 2 10" sub woofers in the back.The Suburban was designed and built to tow a trailer and could be driven anywhere reliably. It has a comfortable ride and is ready to cruise.
