For sale here I have my mostly original 1949 GMC 100 long bed half ton project pickup with clear KS title to the serial plate inside drivers door. It looks to have had one repaint in the original red or at least the rear fenders were worked and repainted many years ago. It has the typical rust that these AD trucks get in the lower cowl, kick panels, front floor and cab corners. It also has some rust in the bottoms of the doors and the center of the running boards. It also has some bumps and bruises to the cab, bed and fenders from being used as a farm truck. The front bed panel and tailgate are bent and bowed but the bed sides are quite straight and solid. The rear fenders have some dents and old filler work in them. The cab has a dent above the ps door and around the fuel filler neck. That door opens and closes fine. The fronts fenders are in good shape. The hood looks pretty solid with a couple dings and is missing the hood ornament. The grille is bent pretty badly but the surround is in nice shape. The truck has a farm built front valance, spare tire carrier and rear bumper. The truck has a few missing pieces like the hood ornament, antenna, ds headlight bezel and center floor section. I have a fairly solid center floor section and bezel that I'll include off of my panel truck project. The frame on the truck is good and solid from front to back. The truck has a 228 engine that drove it down into the field but that was over 20 years ago and it appears to be locked up now. The transmission is a 3 speed on the column. The dash is complete with the correct white GMC gauges and what looks to be a car radio installed. The key in the ignition fits everything on the truck. The door and window mechanisms will need some help to function properly. The front and back glass is broken but the door glass looks ok for a patina truck build. The truck rolls and steers for transport. Go to 1949gmc100.shutterfly.com for 160 pictures of the truck. This truck is a six lug half ton and would make an excellent shop truck. You can cut the bed down to a short bed and put it on a 118" S10 chassis or update the original chassis. It would also look good as a worn original driver. This is selling with no reserve and all buyers are welcome. I will assist with loading for transport. There's a $500 non refundable deposit due within 48 hours of auctions end with full payment due within 7 days.
