The Western Reserve Fire Museum in Cleveland is offering this rig for sale. This is an all steel body 1978 GMC Sierra 6500 V-Eight with an Emergency-1 all aluminum body. Has a 366cu. in. gas engine (runs good) and a 4 speed manual transmission. Tires (8. 25 x 20) are all in good condition with dual rears. 250GPM pump needs to be re-installed. No water tank. Brakes are new but the Hydrovac needs rebuilt or replaced. 12. 44 original miles. Hour meter 1. 56. Comes with a Federal "Q" siren. winch. dual CP-100 Federal chrome siren speakers. a pair of Southern VP. #530 rotators on the rear and two unity spots on the rear. 2 Circle D spot lights and a Force 4 light bar. Measures 8ft wide. 20ft long and 8ft tall from the top of the light bar. I also have the aluminum decking/hose bed that covered the tank/pump area. The seat is out but in good condition. Battery is bad. The body is rust free and the aluminum body is in great condition. Truck is located in Downtown Cleveland. Ohio. The pump and tank were removed to make the truck a parade vehicle for the museum. They never got to removing the rear compartment. The museum needs the money and cannot afford to repair the truck. The tank has been scrapped. Would make a great addition to any collection or be the first on your street to own your very own fire truck. Good luck!
