This is a 1981 GMC Fire Rescue Truck built on a C6000 chassis. It shows only 11,400 miles which I believe to be correct since this type of vehicle would likely have been called out on limited traffic type situations. It has its original Lights, iren and their controls. The red strobe lights (the top lights on the corners of the sides and back) have been changed to clear lenses to meet State of Delaware registration requirements but the red lenses as well as the "bubble lights" that were mounted above the cab are pictured and included. Lights on the outside of the rear compartment strobe lights on top and flood lights on the bottom (of each corner of the sides and back). Flood Lights can light a working area. It may be possible to convert the strobe lights to additional flood lights for increased lighting of a work site. The truck includes an intercom to communicate between the cab and the rear compartment. The rear compartment has two benches with 6 or 8 seat belts total (3 or 4 per side) and storage under the bench seats. It also includes a charging unit to maintain the batteries at full charge by use of an extension cord connected to a 120 volt power source. It has a battery cut-off that allows you to shut off the bateries or select between one or both batteries. It has a two inch receiver for towing. 5-Speed manual transmission with a "Creeper" first gear. Many large external tool compartments including one ready to accept a generator with wiring to run multiple 120 volt outlets installed inside and out of the rear compartment. Also internal storage compartments in the rear compartment as well as a rack to secure large tanks inside the rear compartment. Truck was formerly owned by the fire department of a town in New York state. Truck is ideal as a parade vehicle, ttraction vehicle or work truck with tool storage. I initially intended to use it to tow a race trailer as it provided great storage. What needs attention: Rust in the Cab Corners (shown in the pictures) and possibly a portion of the inner rocker panels below the doors but since the cab is the same as a 1981 GMC/Chevrolet pick-up, hese are stock pick-up truck items and can be replaced. Rear compartment (below rear doors) has rust; I was planning to replace the door with Diamond Plate. The interior handle of the Rear Door is broken and needs to be replaced. Some rust at the seams on the front of the box (rear compartment) shown in the pictures. Dash top is cracking from age, ut this is also a GMC pick-up item that can be replaced. New Brake Lines installed and brakes are working however the parking brake is not holding and needs to be addressed.
