Car description

This is a beautiful 1968 Volvo 1800S. The car has less than 700 Miles on it since a nearly complete restoration. I've owned the car since 2013 and am ready to move on to something new. Here is the run down: Engine and transmission: Rebuilt. The individual who did most of the restoration ( I'll include photos and paperwork) passed along a solid record of the work. He kept as many of the original parts as possible but there is a lot of "new" on the car. Structural: All new steel on underside of the vehicle. Gas tank was resealed. Parts: Brakes were redone. New Water pump. Radiator was resealed. Master cylinder is new and a hundred other things are new or replaced with old parts. I have used Howie Silverman in New York extensively for advice and for hard to get parts. Many of the original parts for the body and undercarriage were purchased from Don Thiebold ( He is a well known Restoration King of the 1800. You can see his rebuilds on his website. I got some stuff from him as well - Air filters. windshield wipers. etc. mostly small stuff. Google p1800 and you'll get his site. ) Front end: Redone by MarcoMotors in Evansburg. PA Wiring: Redone by Marco motors in Evansburg. PA. They replaced 99% of the original wiring. Carb Rebuilds: Done by Marco Motors of Evansburg. PA Interior: Restored - includes the liner. rugs. seats. etc The car runs really great. In the winter it starts on the second or third turn. In the summer it always starts on the first turn. The car is not without a few things still to be done but. of what I know. they are really relatively minor. Of the projects still to do that I know: The brake booster needs to be replaced. (I have gotten many of my parts from Swedish Treasures and had planned on getting the booster from them as well. You can see that at Swedish treasure's website). This needs to be done as it burns fluid and the breaks get squishy if you don't check the levels. There was a short that sometimes blew the fuse to the turn signal. fan and windshield wipers. We think we solved this last year as it hasn't blown for the last 200 miles but I am still on-guard. Originally the car had a push button ignition wired in and they had moved the switch for the overdrive to the floor. We identified this as part of the problem creating the fuse blowing and redid this. Currently the overdrive is not wired but as recently as last Summer it was working fine. The windshield washer fluid lines need to be replaced. The motor appears to work fine but I could never get any fluid on the windshield. I solved this by only driving it on sunny days. The speedometer works when it wants to. I replaced the original because that one didn't work at all. The temp. gauge is not hooked up. The Trunk doesn't lock OR it does but only when it wants to. The paint also looks very good now but there are a number of places where it is starting to bubble. There is also a spot at the very front of the hood where an over zealous mechanic extended the hood too far. It chipped off some of the paint and broke my goddamned heart. The odometer says 37. 15 but its not correct. Im not sure what the original mileage is only what I've put on it since the restoration. I love the car but I'm just out of gas on this project ( no pun intended). I am more than happy to talk to you about the car prior to purchase. I can tell you anything that I know. Please ask any questions before buying. No returns. BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PICK-UP AND TRANSPORT!!
