First of all I am a Mustang Enthusiast. I have bought, old, estored and have won many trophies over the years with my Mustangs. In 2007 I traded a Ford Dealer my 67 GT Coupe I did for a new 2007 Mustang GT convertible (Fully Loaded) He gave me the new Mustang and 5K pocket change. So I'm just saying if I own it is a nice Mustang.Keep in mind this is a 50 plus year old car. It does have defects. You are not looking at a concourse trailer queen. But then the price isn't that either. To find an early car with all the correct equipment is rare. Many of the early cars were automatics. Correct carpet without foot pad and vinyl from carpet to sill plates. Ready to drive, njoy and show. It's a real hit at the cruise ins! How often do you see an unmolested 64 ½ Mustang with a 170 C.I. inline 6 cylinder 3 speed manual? Nice driver quality early production car. it's not very often that you see an early car with all the original equipment intact. Nice single stage original color Rangoon Red with white interior. Floor pans have been repaired as well as having new quarter panels.I had planned to keep and enjoy it as I have desired an early car with the base 170 with a manual for years but I have a new business venture in the works and the extra cash would help.Fresh engine and engine bay detail with correct tags. Fresh transmission rebuild by Zumbrota Bearing and Gear. New tires and brakes.Do your research on the 64 ½ Mustangs. There are many things that are unique to these early cars. This car has all of those unique features intact.I have this car listed elsewhere, o I do reserve the right to end this auction early. All funds will clear my bank prior to the car leaving my possession PERIOD.You are welcome to view the car or have a third party inspect it. I will be happy to assist with shipping arrangements. I have a transporter that I've worked with over the years. I do have an appraisal on the car I did for insurance purposes when I bought the car. I will share that with serious parties. My reserve is less that that original appraisal but I have spent a lot of money in new parts as well as significant time making things right. Please do not ask my reserve price. If you hit it you will know!Recent New PartsBattery with Autolite Faux Battery CoverBattery Tray (I Opted to go with a 67 Mustang tray for superior battery retention)ClutchDrive shaft input yokeUniversal JointsHub Cap Spinners ($260)Correct radiator hoses with correct hose clampsGenerator wiring harnessFuel pump to carb fuel lineDistributor to carburetor vacuum lineWindshieldTaillight lensesHeadlightsFuel sending unitCorrect rubber fuel line with correct clampsCorrect clutch springsCorrect accelerator springInstrument bezel and lensGlove Box doorShifter KnobCorrect wiper arms and wipersWeather-strippingSpark PlugsPlug wiresFilters1964 1/2 Timeline:Production began March 9, 964 and ended August 17,1964Only Coupes and Convertibles were manufactured during this periodOnly Generator equipped cars were produced during this periodDate codes are OCO through OHO, found on the VIN Data plate)1964 1/2 Engine Displacement & Code:170 cubic inch 6cyl 1bbl "V"260 cubic inch 8cyl 2bbl "F"289 cubic inch 8cyl 4bbl "D"289 cubic inch 8cyl 4bbl "K" (Available in June of 1964)1964 1/2 Exterior Appearance:The Gas Cap has no security cable. The edges of the Hood have stiffening skirts (flanges)The headlight extensions have corresponding bevels to the hood skirtsThe Mustang word on front fenders is 4-3/8", ater lengthened to 5.0"Windshield wiper shaft bases are chromed pot metal and have a threaded pivot1964 1/2 Interior Appointments:Door Locks knobs are color-keyed to interior, hanged to chrome in 1965Owners Manual states engine options as, 70 C.I. six cylinder, nd the 260 low compression V8, nd the Hi-Performance 289 V8The fresh air vent knob on the drivers side is marked with a White "A"Door handles and Window cranks are held by concealed spring clipsInstrument Cluster has Red "GEN" light (Generator), ater 1965 models had Red "ALT" light (alternator)Heater blower is two speed with the "OFF" position located in centerCarpet had color-keyed rubber heel pad, o toe pad, s in later modelsCarpeting stops at rocker stiffener plate, olor-keyed vinyl under door sill plateFront Seatbelts are secured with an eye boltPassenger seat was fixed into position with no fore/aft adjustmentSmaller "T" handle on automatic transmission equipped cars1964 1/2 Trunk Compartment:Mat is Grey burtex in hardtops, nd speckled Grey rubber in convertiblesSpare tire hold down is slotted for carriage head boltTail lights have 3 wire pigtail assembly1964 1/2 Engine Compartment:Hood Bumpers have recessed Phillips screw to hold bumper to studRadiator Core support has air vents/louvers in front of battery for coolingLarger horns than on later models, ounted low on the frame behind radiatorGenerators are installed, ave black metal/rubber shroudOil dipstick is on passenger side and very longOil filler tube is on front cover of engine, ot valve coversSmall flip open oil cap on distributor baseIgnition coil is mounted flat on intake manifoldBrake switch ( 2 wires) is mounted on the master cylinderEngines have a road draft tube, ith/without a PCV valveView an album of pictures here
