1959 Ford Skyliner Classic Convertable

1959 FORD SKYLINER CLASSIC CONVERTABLE.. This car is a survivor. It has been in dry storage for several years.. The car is a driver and handles very good. The brakes are great the motor has no issues ( does not burn oil and starts instantly ) The transmission was just overhauled The tires are mostly new. ( wide white walls ) The body is rust free and straight. As far as I know it has never been in a accident.. A body repairman has looked at it for me and gave it a clean bill of health..( frame etc; no bondo) Now for the flaws; The upholstery is not original it is black pleated. the headliner has separated and needs to be replaced. the sun visors need to be replaced. The floor carpet could be replaced. The steering wheel has been messed with and could use some help. The top has a small ding and scratch and one of the 10 solenoids to make the top go up and down automatically is not working. I can make it go up and down by bypassing the switch. All the motors and connections are perfect and work well. The paint is okay but has some chips and someone has painted over the original paint to try to spruce is up ( same color ) a number of years ago. The rear bumper needs to be repaired or replaced. The front bumper is straight. The grill is bent but very repairable. ( not bad ) The glass on the drivers and passenger side is cracked and need to be replaced but the rest of them are great. The rubber seals for the top and doors are 56 years old and need help also. The windshield and rear window do not have any issues as far as seals.Some of the stainless is dimpled and can be fixed but all there.I wanted to tell you of the flaws so you wont feel that you are getting a car that is show quality however it is a looker and with very little help it could be show quality.
