Car description

A lack of space and too many cars has prompted me to sell my 1930 Standard Phaeton. This car is tour ready now. and is fairly rare with a little over 16. 00 produced. It has a smooth running Model B engine with a valve job and new touring grind cam and lifters last summer. The babbit was deemed ready to run. as were all other engine internals. The steering box has been rebuilt with all new parts. Four tires and five metal stem tubes are three years old and have 645 miles on them. It has a Lebaron Bonny top and interior. also three years old. It has a very nice driver quality paint job with no scratches or dents. The rear axle was rebuilt last year with a 3. 54 ring and pinion. It runs and drives nicely with a smooth clutch. and also has new manifolds and exhaust. It has four new hubs and cast iron drums from Brattons. The dash is the correct butler finish. and the chrome bumpers looks great. All the lights work as does the Sparton horn. The wiper motor works. but the arm fell off last time we drove it on tour. I did not retrieve it because traffic was crazy and it was raining hard. It has four working. nbsp;original shocksThe trunk is a Potter. and like the Spartan horn. was manufactured right here in Jackson. Michigan. This car is a real looker and gets compliments wherever we go. but is not perfect. One item that will need further attention is the brakes. They are not as good as they should be. and new woven brake shoe linings will be included with this sale. Replacing the linings is fairly easy. as is centering and arching the shoes to fit properly. The wheels were powder coated. and one of them is showing signs of rust from the coating being too thin. The sheet metal under both seats is an amateur patch job. with no curtain pan under the front seat. The front fenders are both glass. but of high quality and imperceptible from steel unless you feel underneath. The dash light is a junk Taiwan reproduction. It looks nice. but does not. and never will work. Shame on the aftermarket guys for still selling these lights. If I kept the car. I would replace it with an original if you can find one. Aside from the brakes needing further attention. none of these things detracts from the presentation of the car to 99% of the people who will see and ride in it. (That 1% always needs something to fuss about anyway). The clear Michigan title matches the number stamped on the frame. It is an earlier frame with the front cross member replaced. The frame is very clean. straight and has no sag whatsoever. Because of the replacement engine. I have riveted a plate with the title number to the firewall to appease your local DMV. should the car sell out of state. Feel free to ask for more pics or make any inquiries. I can store it a reasonable amount of time if you need to arrange shipping.
