When have you ever seen a 1956 Thunderbird turned Prostreet?! The car has a clear title in my name and is titled as a 1956 ford. This car started life as a Shay Ford Thunderbird. They are Replicas built for the ford motor company in the 80's and sold new at ford dealerships. Uses original ford thunderbird trim and body components. like lights and glass. The body is all fiberglass including the bumpers. The doors open and close like a normal car. The hood and trunk are lift off and attach with hood pins. Comes with hard top! It is a very light weigh car built by the previous owner. nbsp;who built drag cars for a living and used the spare parts around the shop to build the coolest cruiser I have ever seen. He ran into some problem during his divorce and sold the car. He drove the car all over and it is street legal! The car runs great around town or down the highway! Turns about 2500rpm at 65mph so the gears are low in the rear but still has lots of get up and go. Engine and car where not built to drag race but cruise around and look cool! Its not the fastest car at the car cruise but it is reliable. sounds awesome. and gets a lot of attention!! I bought it with plans of redoing the cosmetics. but just bought another project that I will need to focus my time and shop space on. I am only selling to gain cash and space for this new project. nothing wrong with the car! My loss is your gain! Frame:The frame is fully boxed and uses a frame from an S10. The rear is a narrowed 9 inch ford. Coil overs in the front and leaf spring rear with coil over shocks. Power brakes with front disc and rear drum. Brakes in rear are new and is all fluid. Certified fuel cell in trunk. Everything to maintain this car can come from the local auto parts store. The wheels are polished aluminum Crager prostars. The rear tires are Mickey Thompson 31x18. 50-15LT tires and fronts are 165/80R15. Tread is good on all tires. The car drives straight down the road and steers easily. Not a rough ride but also not a new caddy! Engine and trans:The engine is a 1966 Chevrolet 327ci V8 (cast # 3959512). These blocks are known to have a special extra thick wall casting so they could be over bored and where sold to select race teams in the 1960's!! It has a mild cam. weiand aluminum intake. holley carb. Accel Super Coil HEI ignition. Chrome alternator. electric cooling fan. headers with cambered exhaust. and billet pulleys. Doesn't smoke and has never overheated on me. The choke is wired open so it is slightly cold natured. normally a minute of idle when fully cold before driving. The transmission is a 350 turbo with remote oil cooler and B&M shifter. Shifts smoothly. Again the car was built to be a fun and reliable cruiser not a full on race car. Interior and Body:The interior is red vinyl and is in good shape. No rips or holes. The carpet is a little worn out. I am including new seat belts and hardware that will need to be installed. Tilt steering column. The head lights. brake lights. and blinkers work. The wipers are missing the arms. but you wont drive in the rain anyway. Horn does not work. The radio is not hooked up anymore. The speedo is inop due to a broken cable so true mileage is unknown. The gas gauge does not have a sending unit in the new fuel cell. Otherwise everything is good to go. The body is painted in white epoxy primer. Previous owner tried to shave the door handles and its not smooth. A few hours with some body filler and its ready for a slick paint job. The hardtop is missing a rear window. made of Plexiglas. so you will have to cut one. Hardtop also has a crack in it that will require fiberglass work. With a little work this will be a high dollar car! One you can drive and enjoy right now. and work on it later. I can help arrange shipping if you need it. I have tried to list everything you would want to know but if you have questions please feel free to call me. Kevin Nelson 314 578 4795
