Car description

If it had been a real face to face. in front of the vehicle. transaction. one or both of us would have compromised and it would have been a done deal. But it wasn't and it didn't. I am a motivated seller so I will make the first move and re-list at a lower reserve. This will be one hell of a deal for someone. After building several complete street rods. this was a five year attempt to build the "Ultimate" version of the first vehicle I ever drove. a '40 Ford pickup. With the help of many talented friends. I am pleased to say. it resulted in what you see here. a NSRA T-shirt car. a Goodguy's "Coolest" pick. a NAPA calendar car. a room full of trophies. a Portland Roadster Show Best of Class (Radical Custom Street Rod Pickup) winner and (at this same event). my most cherished reward. the comment from "George Barris". "Pretty darn cool truck. uy!" The drive train is pretty straight forward . a balanced / blueprinted 355 Chevy small block. a built 350 Turbo. a Fatman tubular independent front end with power rack and pinion steering and power disc brakes. Followed by a parallel sprung 3:50 Ford 9" rear with sway bar and power disc brakes. It sits"just right" (you will never get a better tire to fender fit). all on Weld threaded cap. billet wheels. The real labor of love (and expense) was in all of the all steel body modifications. Starting with a shaved front bumper. custom built grille center piece to match up with the peaked hood with extended sides (for a flush fit). filled cowl vent. 3" chopped windshield with V-butted glass. a Carson lift off top (that fits under the side opening metal bed cover). an integrated roll bar allowing 3-point seat belts. suicided hard top doors with power windows. in the 10 1/2" extended cab. filled with sculpted tweed upholstery (check out the numerous ford /'40 logos and designs). milled aluminum Dakota Digital dash. tilt with custom covered wheel and remote opening doors. padded bed cover and gas filler door. The bed is totally hand fabricated with molded passenger fenders. rolled and frenched rear pan with a 8 light custom flush mounted tail light. I didn't want to make all these changes stand out but I think every panel was modified in one way or another. All this is topped with superb body work and glass smooth PPG Royal Twilight Pearl paint with trick "Asphalt" flamed graphics. I am sure there are more things I have left out. The five years of constant work and the 25 years of money. this truck has more than met my expectations. Always the big questions. why are you selling it and what is wrong with it? I want to experience this satisfaction once again in my next build!" I never put in a sound system. even on several smooth riding state wide crossings. preferring to just listen to FM V-8 and I never charged up the (R-12) Vintage air system. when it was "cooler"to just take the top off. Basically it is a great custom pickup with more money and labor in it than my house. But my seven car garage is too full to work in and life is too short. I want to do that last trick build! This is too great of a ride to be left sitting as a trophy in the corner of my garage. Someone needs to be driving and showing this truck. I never left a car show. where I didn't win something with it and was disappointed if it wasn't another "Best of Show". As usual. "As is. where is" warranty. I didn't build this to sell. so I didn't take short cuts on quality. If I can be of any help with further questions. setting up shipping. etc. please feel to e-mail or give me a call (509) 467-8773. I might consider an interesting part trade. Thanks for looking. nbsp; Dave
