1972 MUSTANG MACH I HISTORY: VIN 2F05H197104 Originally delivered to the Jacksonville. Florida sales district in April of 1972. It was purchased from the original owner and moved to Tennessee in 1998. This MACH I was originally Medium Bright Yellow and retains that paint and color today. The car was originally produced with Magnum 500 wheels and still has them beneath the Chromed. one piece 1970 MACH 1 Wheel covers. I purchased the car in October of 2014 as a winter restoration project. It is the NINTH 1972 MACH 1 I have redone in the past 5 years. It is VERY solid with no issues that I know of. This MACH 1 shows no signs of ever being in an accident and retains ALL of its original glass. in very good shape. The Tires. Interior. and Battery are new. EQUIPMENT: It is equipped with the original 351-2V Cleveland Engine and the original FMX transmission. Both were professionally and completely rebuilt approximately 5000 miles ago and are very strong. The engine has a 10:1 Compression Ratio. The original distributer has been replaced with a Mallory Electronic Distributer so when you turn the key. it fires up immediately! You cannot tell it from original without looking very closely. This MACH originally had a 2. 75 standard axle ratio rear end that was changed out to an “R” code. 3. 25:1 Limited Slip Posi rear end at the same time as the rebuild. perfect for cruising. The odometer shows 79. 50 miles which are original. All of the body panels seem to be original with NO patch panels or bondo which shows that the car was very well taken care of. indoors in a dry climate. The front right fender was replaced with a NOS panel sometime in the past and the trunk lid has been recently repainted. Other than that. the body and paint seem to be original and in excellent condition for being 43 years old. The only places I found the paint to be thin were on the sport mirrors. I found no signs of rust or bondo anywhere in the car. The COMPLETE floor pan has been professionally replaced and it fits and looks original. The weather stripping on the entire car is in excellent condition. It has air shocks with a fill valve hidden below the rear license plate. NEW front brake pads. rotors and hubs. The rear brakes are at about 50%. OPTIONS Include: Factory Ram Air. Front and Rear Spoilers. Power Steering. Air Conditioning. Power Front Disc Brakes. Tinted Glass (all original). AM Radio (now AM-FM cassette). Console. and MACH I Sports Interior. The engine has been completely detailed to show specifications using MCA (Mustang Club Of America) rules as a guideline. The interior is entirely new…. seat covers. dash pad. carpet. door panels. and all painted surfaces. All lights and electrical work properly on the car with these exceptions: The console clock does not work. the speedometer works smoothly. but reads faster than you are actually going. the air conditioner compressor runs and engages but does not blow cold air. I am sure it needs a Freon charge. I have some R-12 refrigerant that goes with the car. but I do not have the correct hoses to install it. Even the dash “seat belt” light and buzzer work! This MACH starts. runs. looks and drives great. It sounds AWESOME!! As you can see from the current NADA Collector Car Values a 1972 MACH 1 goes from a LOW of $8. 68 to a HIGH of $43. 25 with an AVERAGE value being $24. 25. This MACH is slightly ABOVE average in condition. but is priced to sell!! Its ready to drive or show! They are becoming harder and harder to find in this condition.
