Owner's Manual SELLER REMARKS We sell a lot of early Broncos here at Streetside Classics. but this 1969 Ford Bronco has a very interesting story to tell. It's a one-owner truck that was originally purchased in Colombia and repatriated a few years ago. More recently. it's been given a makeover. creating one of the most functional-looking 4x4s we've seen in a while. Yes. you read that right. this truck hails from Colombia. but no. we don't know the particulars of how it found its way back to the US. The cool thing is that it's been in the same family all along and with a known history. it's easy to see that this truck hasn't been bashed. abused. and rusted. It wears a recent industrial-quality paint job. so it's not for show. but the purposefulness of the desert-themed look can't be ignored. The monochromatic look actually works rather well on the boxy Bronco. with the tan body and top contrasting with the black fender flares. grille. and bumpers. The original badges were retained and sharp-eyed viewers will note that this truck carries optional dual fuel tanks so it can go almost anywhere. There's also a heavy-duty winch up front. a big spare tire on the back. and a heavy-duty hardware just about everywhere you look. The interior is basic. no doubt about that. but it has the same no-nonsense look as the bodywork. so it works rather well. The vinyl seat cover is recent. but everything else appears original and in very good shape. The floors are bare painted steel. so no worries about getting dirt inside. and the big steering wheel makes it easy to climb over the really rough stuff. You'll note the speedometer is in kilometers and there are a pair of auxiliary dials strapped to the steering column. Contrasting and slightly lighter door panels show a sense of style and the plain wood rear benches facing each other is a nod to the desert-dwelling 4x4s like the Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Rover Discovery. which have been crawling around in the dirt for decades. There is no radio. but they've recently added a Vintage Air A/C system with under-dash vents and controls neatly installed in the center of the dashboard so it looks almost OEM. And for those of you who are metrically-impaired. there's a handy KPH to MPH conversion chart taped to the speedometer face. It's powered by the engine you want in your Bronco. Ford's trusty and torquey 302 cubic inch V8. The engine bay shows signs of the original yellow paint and it's not detailed for show. but the hardware is durable and complete. from the original air cleaner to the heavy-duty radiator up front. The A/C system is neatly integrated and fits like it was born there. and there are a lot of new components. including the ignition system's tune-up parts. It stars and runs extremely well and thanks to the 3-speed manual transmission. it's genuinely fun to drive. even on the street. Underneath. there are heavy-duty axles at both ends. a 9-inch out back and a Dana 30 up front. so no worries about breaking something at an inopportune moment. It's not all clean and sparkling. but you'll never think twice about heading into the dirty to play with this truck. Big. black painted steel wheels and oversized Hankook off-road radials complete the butch look. A neat truck with V8 power and go-anywhere capabilities. in just the right condition for weekend fun.
