Car description

1929 Ford Model A 5 Window Coupe

It takes a certain amount of faith to dive headlong into a do-it-yourself, traditional hot rod build project, especially one that begins with a basket-case shell of an old Ford. Faith that you'll find the parts you need. Faith that you can marry disparate - and sometimes ancient - components into some cohesive whole. Faith that the end result will not only move under its own power but do so safely, while looking good, too. Many of us have that dream. We know a lot of people with garages full of old parts. But not everyone has the skills and patience to put them all together.

For consignment, in classic style, a fender-less 5 window coupe rodded to excellence, old school through and through, a hot engine under the open hood, and a beautiful blue paint job. I'm behind the wheel and ready for the girl in the polka dot skirt to drop the handkerchief! This all 1929 steel car is now resting securely on a TCI chassis. The rest I'm keeping you in suspense! Read on!!

Exterior
All 1929 rust free steel covers this classic bathed in Washington Blue. Gaps are looking good, and it reminds me of the early stock car days at the Reading Fairgrounds dirt track oval where we would show up with our brimless felt hats airbrushed with our favorite car and driver, and smell the burnt racing gas and feel the dirt. Those racers would work that steering wheel to get the cars to float into the turns never getting out of the throttle. This car harkens back to that great time but is reserved for the street. A 1932 steel grille fronts an open engine bay, and then the metal takes over for the passenger and rear of this car. It is all smooth and rust free, and of course without fenders. Chromed wheels in excellent condition are wrapped in good rubber and are showing off on all 4 corners. I'm all shook up.

Interior
Opening the small simple doors, brushed aluminum in wide ribbed format is covering the interior of the doors. Power window toggles are within these metal panels. This provides an excellent threshold for the cockpit, which sports a tan leather (cashmere) tuck and roll insert bench with smooth bolsters that stretches across the passenger compartment. Sitting proudly and rising towards the roof is a Hurst shifter which is seen within an ocean of tan thick pile carpeting, and creates a calm sea for the seat to float in. Upfront full metal blue painted dash supports a lineup of black faced white lettered and numbered round gauges that stretch nearly the entire dash front. Fronting this beautiful creation is a wood rimmed steering wheel with a trio of chromed drilled supports and a center V8 badge. The remainder of the cockpit is lined with lower panels of aluminum, and uppers are more cashmere coverings is the nearly perfect paneled headliner. A shout out to the trunk where a new fuel cell takes up most of the area, along with an aluminum battery box, and the rest is lined with tan carpeting. You ain't nuthin but a hound dog!

Drivetrain
Open for all the world to experience and enjoy is a 350ci engine with a .40 overbore creating 357ci, Dart aluminum heads, an Isky cam, roller rockers and drinking heavily from dual Edelbrock 500cfm quad carbs through an Edelbrock intake. All this produces a consigner stated 400hp, which pushes power to the Ford 9-inch rear axle through a Borg Warner T10 4-speed manual transmission. Headers for the easier exhale and straight pipes right out the sides and let's make some noise! Just a clean, polished, well done presentation. A hunka, hunka burnin love..

Undercarriage
As perfect as the topside with blue painted floorpans and rockers, many a chromed drivetrain and suspension part, and that TCI Stage 3 chassis holding it all together...solid as a rock. Disc brakes are all around.

Drive-Ability
Upon lighting the 8 candles you will need to cover your ears as those straight pipes provide zero muffling with only minor baffling...as it should be! This car accelerated forever and handled very well. Bias free panic stopping and a comfortable driver all around in Cashmere heaven...

A classic rod looking like a classic hot rod, but with comforts of a nice interior, and classy wheel covers, and no dirt anywhere. Just the look is enough and with the power it has you will be more than satisfied to be tooling through your neighborhood, stirring up the dust and leaves on the suburban streets, shades of the old Fairgrounds dirt track, and the arm dropping and go like hell! I can't help falling in love...It's now or never folks!
