This car started out as a bare fiberglass body and perimeter frame from DK Rods, Port Richey FL (out of business now). They channelled the body to the frame and bobbed the rear horns.
The front suspension has a Chassis Engineering forged I-beam axle, Pete&Jake 4-link with extra long chrome moly links and custom spring mount. (Axle is movedin front of grille.) P&J multi-leaf spring. Brakes are original Buick finned aluminum with Wilson Welding finned backing plates.Superbell steering arms with Ford tie rods.Pan hard bar, P&J shocks with F1 mounts.
Sidesteering with drag-link, ford tie rods, schroeder torsion arm made into pitman arm, attached to a schroeder torsion bar (to be used as extension of pitman shaft in 60's Mopar steering box). Box is coupled to Speedway column with quick release. All parts still lose - notpermanently installed! (see pic)
Rear suspension has a Chassis Engineering triangular 4-link, narrowed ford 9" housing with backing plates. Center section hasrebuilt OEM tracloc with new steel and friction discs. 3.23 OEM Ford gears, all new bearings/seals/shims, ready to be assembled. No brakes, no axles, no coil overs!
Wheels are Vintiques 16X6. Tires are dry rotted - only used for chassis set-up.
Theframe center section wascustom fabricated with drop out for transmission. Custom built engine mounts and rear section to clear suspension.
The drive train is raised in chassis so oil pan is not sitting below frame rails. The water pump/fan is centered inradiator.
The motor is a standardrebuilt GM 350 shortblock with flat top pistons and L79 cam. This has been a long term / part time project of mine. Ever increasing distractions keep me from progressing, to the point, where I'd rather see someone who actually has the time, to work on it. I'm trying to be as open an transparent in mydescription as possible.
Buyer isresponsible for shipping/transport. Location is Punta Gorda, Southwest Florida.
Ifyou're notinclined to dofabricationwork or do not have access to anyone who does - this is NOT the project for you.Sorry
I would highly recommend personal inspections. Please ask anyquestions BEFORE you commit yourself by bidding. My asking price reflectsless than half of my expenses, asI'm hoping to find anequally happy new owner.Happy to entertain reasonable offers.
This car is for sale locally also.
Thank you for your consideration.
