The body is in good condition, the doors open and close as they should. Also the hood and trunk work just fine. It runs ok could probably use a tune up. Bothe rear side windows need regulators, there is a regulator in the trunk for the right side. The tires all hold air and the rims are after market. The transmission shifts fine and does not leak. The paint is good and looks to be fairly new. There is a spot on the right door that looks like a tarp came loose and flapped against it. The car could easily be finished as a convertible or as a Hardtop Convertible because the original top bolted on. I estimate new seat coverings, inside door panels and carpeting would cost approximately $1,500 and then it would look pretty sharp. Some history on the car is: I purchased it as being a Convertible from a Dealer in El Paso, Texas from Gayton Motor Co. 14372 Loving Lane, El Paso, and dealt with Gabriel Gayton. He advertised it for sale on E-Bay and represented it as a convertible, even saying the top had been stolen while the car was in storage. He also said he thought he knew where to purchase a top and would let me know if it was still available. After we received the car we found that the trunk did not open like a convertible was supposed to so we ran the vin # and it came back that it was a hardtop. So we have a Hardtop Convertible without a top. Someone took the top off and made a Convertible. The Hardtop just bolts on. It is a real shame because the car could be really nice for very little work and not a great deal of money. Mr. Gayton has refused to do anything about misrepresenting the car to us.
