This 1940 Ford Deluxe-based hot rod is built on a 1936 pickup frame using a split wishbone TCI '40 Ford kit both bolted and welded. The rear end is from a 9 bolt LTD narrowed to fit, sitting on Dodge D100 rear springs. The front end is box cross steering with Genie tie rod, with a front main reverse loop from Super Bell, poly ride pads, sitting on a 4" drop I beam. Disk front brakes are GM.The engine is a '66 327 bored .030" over with 283 heads, a mild Chet Herbert cam, Edelbrock intake, a Carter AFB carburetor and nicely trimmed with chrome components. The transmission is a TH350 from a1984 Camaro with torque-lock using a Lokar safety lockout shifter.VDO Cockpit Royale gauges. Tinted glass all around. Completely refinished upholstery with reclining front seats. The belt line molding and interior trim is Deluxe but the Bob Drake grille is Ford Standard style.This is a hot rod or street rod style vehicle.
