Car description

Here's your chance to get your hands on something rare, beautiful, and exceptionally interesting. This 1956 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria made up less than 2% of Fairlane production, so you'll likely never find one again that looks so vintage or so nice.

Finished in its factory-correct Meadow Mist Green and Colonial White, the restored paintwork shows off just how bright and optimistic the 1950s felt. The premium Fords were instantly recognizable with their sweeping chrome trim dividing the two-tone combinations, extending from the headlight all the way back to the tail. Even with this bright look there was still one that was distinguished far above the rest. The Crown Victorias gives you more of that awesome '50s chrome with an exclusive encompassing brightwork that visually separates the front and rear passenger compartments. This sweeping chrome and the optional fender skirts came together to give this coupe the lower, wider, and longer feel that everyone in Detroit strove for back then. Today it takes an exceptionally straight Ford like this one to wear all of the intricate brightwork correctly.

Inside is a stunning sea of green. The minty exterior color is continued inside, and now it's joined by darker tones. It's especially attractive with the peacock inserts on the seats. The carpeting, sun visors, headliner, dash, and all other essentials have a crisp and fresh appearance. These cars were about driving in style, and so there's a split bench up front and plenty of individual room in the rear (especially with the fold-down armrest.) Just from sitting from behind the wheel, everything feels like a time machine back to the '50s, right down to the jewel-like Ford family crest on the horn cap. And there are a few Stewart Warner gauges neatly integrated into the instrument cluster. That way this continues to look vintage but you also get the kind of accurate info that keeps this a great cruiser.

The Thunderbird badging on the front fender is no accident. Ford's 292 cubic-inch motor was called the Thunderbird V8 and was shared with that personal luxury cruiser. So it earns the badging on the outside and the stylish valve covers on the big/bold red engine. And you see it all so well because the correct and extra tidy setup shows great care. This is one of the largest motors Ford offered back then and so it has the torque to move the Crown Vic with authority. The V8 fires up nicely, runs well, and makes a nice but dignified tune out of the dual exhaust. It really is built to cruise with a smooth feeling out on the road with a good ride, a two-speed automatic transmission, and modern cruising tires that also have the classic whitewall look. Plus, you'll really appreciate the added stopping power from power brakes with superior front discs.

Quality, nobility, and exceptional rarity - we know why this Crown Victoria appeals to you. Don't let something this beautiful slip through your fingers. Call today!!!
