Car description |
---|
This 1926 Ford Model T was purchased by my dad in 1950 when he was 18 years old. He restored it in 1970 using mostly original parts except for a few minor reproduction pieces. The body is original all steel and the engine and drive train are original to the car as well. Original wood spoked wheels are still on the car and in great shape. It comes equipped with a starter which was optional in 1926, but can also be hand cranked to start. The Ford Model T came with a dual voltage system (6 volt or 12 volt) and a 2 speed transmission. My dad drove the car throughout the 70's and 80's in parades and events around the state of CT. Over the years the car has seen less and less use and the time has come to sell after owning it for 70 years. The car runs and drives well and is still registered and insured.
Along with the car, this auction includes many spare parts...almost enough to build another car less the body and frame. Some items include a complete engine (head to pan), radiators, axels, rear end, front ends, starter, generator, coil packs, wheels, tires, a brand new magneto and more! The car could use a little TLC and some freshening up but it's overall in great condition for a vehicle nearly 100 years old. The reserve price is reasonable considering the amount of extra parts that are included. Contact me with questions, or if you would like additional pics.
