1977 Ford Maverick Sedan 4 Door Runs Drives Vintage Straight Body Needs Some TLCVintage Needs Some Restoration & Cleaning All Originalincluding vintage 70's Western Auto Jackand manual (old and shows age, but super neat info)and has factory air conditioning
1977 4 door Ford Maverick with straight 6 engine. All stock, un-molested, with the exception of the 2 electric fans in front of the radiator and the front seat re-upholstery. It still has the factory AM radio,
The car has factory air (Florida car, duh!) air needs a charge and may need other work, but the componentsare there. The body is straight, has all bumpers, hub caps, lights and glass, windows roll up and down. It even has the stainless window deflectors and stainless mud flaps. The interior is a nostalgic red with surprisingly intact seats and door trim, panels, door handles and window cranks. The carpet is starting to come apart from age, but carpet kits are readily available for it in this color (and others on Amazon, etc.). The back seat has beautiful factory vinyl intact, take a look at the embossed detail! No broken windows or glass. Seatbelts are intact.
Anyone filming a 70's themed movie or Netflix show, indie Movie? Need a barn find? You found it!Straight out of the past on this one!
It will need a good cleaning inside and out. It has rust is on both front door lowers and on the rear near the tail lights on the back panel, there is some rust here and there (driver's door window near the mirror) other than that. This baby is prime for a restore. The back doors, fenders and quarter panels look good. The car was “Ziebarted†when new, so is not as rusty as it one would imagine. It is very restorable. The power steering is noisy and may need some work. The Carter carburetor was rebuilt with a kit, but not dialed in; the car has only been moved around our yard/neighborhood since we got it, but starts right up and runs (I have a video of the engine running). The transmission shifts into its gears normally, the engine idles a little rough (carb needs to be dialed in). Does not overheat or smoke. It will drive onto a car hauler but it should not be driven more than that until tires (they leak out and are old), the power steering and carburetor are dialed in.
We can't know if the 38K plus miles are accurate or if it is higher as these old cars didn't have a way to register over 99K, but given the lack of wear on the vinyl on the seats and the door rests, we aren't sure, but the gas and break pedals make us think it may be 138K, although not all the tread is worn on the pedals. All in all, it runs and has some great vintage appeal and features.
Please ask us questions, what you see is what you get, we can only take so many pictures and this is a pretty old car that sat for many years so it needs cleaning, the restoration and I'm sure we missed some issues. If you have something specific in mind, please ask.
This is an as/is saleYou must have a flat bed tow truck pick it up.We are happy to answer questions.
Deposits are due immediately, full payment within 3 days or immediately upon pick-up.The car must be paid in full before being towed away.Cash in person or see below if you are needing it shipped.
Again, AS/IS sale
This is a very neat classic car!
