Car description

This 1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner has a cool all blue look and an awesome hardtop profile. But what really makes it irresistible is the tri-power V8 under the hood and your total control thanks to an upgraded five-speed.
Starliners are truly a special form of the full-size Fords. They have a sleek roofline and pillarless hardtop profile. Not only is this attractive, but it was also rarer than the convertible in '61. Because this is so special, the coupe is finished in Cambridge Blue with enough metallic element to make sure it commands attention the moment the sunlight hits the super-straight sheetmetal. All the chrome is excellent, the ornate grille is extremely nice, and you can see the care that went into keeping this premium Ford looking great. Details like the fender-mounted ornaments, the 390 checkered flag badges, and jet-inspired taillights mean that nobody will mistake this for anything but an upper-class Ford. And just to make sure this sporty and vintage image is maximized, there's an iconic set of Cragar SS wheels with extra meaty rear tires.
The vibrant blue returns inside and looks fresh on the doors, dash, carpeting, and steering wheel. And we especially like the comfy velour inserts on the seats. This full-size Ford has plenty of room to carry family and friends. There are even nice upgrades like cup holders and a retro-style AM/FM/cassette stereo. But what you'll really like is how this has been upgraded to be a true driver's classic. That means a full set of auxiliary gauges cleanly installed under the dash, a mounted fire extinguisher, and a large classic-style horizontal tach prominently mounted on the steering column. And while the Hurst cue ball shifter has a nice classic style, have you counted the gears on it yet?
Pop the hood and you'll see that callouts on the fenders were not lying. This is a Z-code car, and so we're happy to see a big 390 cubic-inch motor filling the engine bay. This one is ready to show off with the high polish look on the inner fenders coordinating with all the chrome-like polished pieces on the V8. The long air topper is over the triple set of dual-barrel Holley carbs that make up the impressive tri-power setup. The full motor is an awesome build, right down to the Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads. And this gives you the best control over this big power V8 with an upgrade to a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. The shifting action is smooth, you have fresh suspension components, and there's even a Wilwood master cylinder on the brakes. So this has a confident feeling on the road. Of course, because you want to use this as a true performance machine, there are nice upgrades, like the traction bars and wide BF Goodrich T/A tires on the rear. There are even exhaust cutouts when you really want to bring the thunder.
Complete with owner's manual, this is the cool and rare Galaxie Starliner that makes a powerful statement with its look and muscle. Don't let it slip away, call today!
