Car description

Proven road car with past VTCI 1st Place Honors! All original drivetrain and color code correct combination of Aquamarine and two-tone Turquoise interior! Factory appointed with air conditioning, chrome 14" Kelsey-Hayes, power steering & brakes, and power windows! Gorgeous eye appeal!
Known affectionately as the 'Square Bird", this particular body style was only produced for 3 years and represents the first of the larger bodied 4-seater T-birds, the introduction of the 2 door hardtop, and the complete departure from the 2-seater roadsters produced from 1955 to 1957. New, larger engines were also introduced providing considerably more power highlighted the bolder body lines, larger front chrome grills, and more prominent rear tail fins.
This wonderful 1960 Ford Thunderbird Convertible boasts a very well kept and hardly used older restoration that remains in terrific condition throughout! its original, date-code correct 352ci 4bbl V8 producing 300 horsepower linked to smooth shifting Cruise-O-Matic transmission and 3.10 rear axle ratio. Fitted with favored options such as Select-Aire air conditioning, power steering & brakes, power windows, heater with defrost, original pushbutton AM radio, all tinted glass, dual exterior rearview mirrors, Kelsey-Hayes 14" chrome wire wheels fitted with radial white sidewall tires, fender skirts, windshield washer, and more!
This Thunderbird, finished in beautiful code C- Aquamarine with 57- Turquoise two-tone interior upholstery, is stunning to see on the open road! It was treated to a professional exterior and interior restoration between 1991-1994 without seeing inclement weather of any kind, and wonderfully maintained ever since! All new paint, interior upholstery & carpet, exterior chrome, factory emblems, and stainless trim. It went on to earn 1st Place honors at the Vintage Thunderbird Club Internationals soon after completion!
The car received an entirely rebuilt engine by Thunderbird specialist Don Paddock including resurfaced heads, fully rebuilt air conditioning system, cleaned & sealed the gas tank, rebuilt carburetor, new fuel lines, brake master cylinder & booster, hoses, & wheel cylinders, axle bearings & seals, etc. Also replaced during this mechanical overhaul were all shocks; front end components like control arm bushings, new pitman arm, sway bar bushings & brackets, new power steering pump; all new door & window weather stripping, and much more! This was completed in October of 1994 and has traveled approximately 21,000 miles since! More recent service between 2001-2006 included all new Pertonix ignition system, alternator upgrade, replacement gas tank, new Holley carburetor, resealed transmission, recorded radiator, and new Coker Classic 2.5" whitewall tires measuring 215/75R14. Today, the odometer reads only 72,789 miles.
Included with the car will be all service records dating back to September 1989, original owner's manual, workshop manual, a correct spare tire, jack, and lug wrench stowed neatly in the trunk compartment. Whether a trained aficionado, or the dedicated enthusiast, this Thunderbird will impress the next owner with both its great looks and drivability!
