Car description

//// NOTE: PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE TEXT BEFORE CALLING WITH QUESTIONS --- THIS CAR IS 85 YEARS OLD AND HARD TO FIND IN THIS RARE CONDITION. RUNS AND DRIVES AS IT DID WHEN LEFT THE FACTORY AND MUCH QUIETER DUE TO EXTRA NOISE INSULATION.
Selling a pristine1935 Ford Sedan Flathead V8 model 48 slant back in a ready to drive away condition. This is the classic Deluxe model and was inspired by the famous Lincoln designed by Edsel Ford. It is a completely original example to the last detail. Has the famous 21 stud (Ironhead) 221 Flathead V8 and a Ford 3 speed silk smooth synchronized 3 speed transmission.
Completely restored on 2013 but the interior was a bit run-down so I have restored the interior from head to toe, carpet, headliner, door panels, trunk lining, trunk carpet, soundproofing, etc. following the original Factory design to the last detail using very durable high quality velour/velvet type fabric and the color is Burgundy/wine, of a tonality which I think goes well with the black exterior paint. (please note the photos show the interior color much lighter than actual, which is a dark burgundy) The paint is a high quality type and is nearly pristine with few minor cosmeticglitches hard to see from 10 feet.
Great attention to detail was used to color match the dash panel with the interior and some checkered details on the door handles and dividing door panels fabric from lower door carpet.
The floors and every part of the metal on the car is pristine and unmolested from factory. No sign of replacement of floor sheet metal was found before we installing lots of sound and heat proofing on the floor and other areas of the body. The car drives quiet and pleasantly for that.

Not a number 1 trailer queen quality car, but a great show goer and fabulous driver. A good number 2 on my opinion using the Hemmings Magazine criteria of 1 to 6.
Here are the details of the good working items and we have kept the originality of the car to the highest possible standards.
--- The original AM radio works great with the center roof speaker and lighted dial. Good quality sound also. --- The whole instrument panel was cleaned, rewired and restored as needed. Instrument faces restored and lighting of the panel is working as should. ---- twin chrome horns work good - nice chrome. ---- 6 volt light system is all original with new headlights and new 6v battery under floor, interior light, and other exterior lighting all working. ---- All gauges work except for the fuel quantity which is a very complex system and as a new fuel tank was installed, it came with a modern float sensor and a universal type gauge was installed on a discrete lower portion of the panel not to disturb the original design. ----- All window glass was replaced with laminated high quality glass and installed with new seals and the rear glass was resealed and leak tested. Front windshield is like new and the crank to open the panel for ventilation works great. --- Includes tire change tool and hand crank factory original.
Engine and transmission runs great with strong acceleration and synchronized gears work fine. The engine is believed to have been rebuilt on the last restoration, 2013 --- A nice tune-up was performed to give a lively and pleasant drive. No rust or under car issues any place. The car had very little use by the previous owner and the odometer is believed to indicate the number of miles (5257) driven after the 2013 restoration.
Some minor items that may need attention ---- The door sill plates are missing. ---- The original fuel indicator was not restored (it is available from catalogs at a price) The Amp meter however works fine and it occupies the right side of the dual gauge. ---- Small micro bubbles are found around the vinyl top frame, typical of this type of vinyl top ---- some small chrome bubbles in the lower side of the windshield frame. Tires had very little use and good thread but are on the dry side by now. A replacement would be advised for longer trips. Brakes are the original 4 wheel mechanical type and are surprisingly effective. A quick adjustment would be good to compensate a slight pull to one side. --- Ignition switch relocated to under the dash.
It is one of my favorite designs from Ford as it borrows design clues from the Lincoln of the same era, very elegant with its slant back and spare tire. Trunk access of course is from the inside of the car lowering the back seat rest.
Compare the finish with cars being offered on E B A Y at very absurd prices that need everything redone. This classic is ready to go and is an over 80 years survivor thanks to being garage kept most of its life.
