Car description

1962 ford galaxie 500 xl. Condition is Used.
Presented here is a beautiful 1962 galaxie 500xl convertible. This was built to drive and enjoy and thats just what it has proven by a road trip from east coast to the west coast and back, numerous out of state weekend drives and the car has done nothing short of putting a smile on everyone's face!
The mechanics: we call this the driver only because it resides on factory suspension and not full blown restomod air ride. A stock 400+ hp coyote was fit between the frame rails attached to a performance automatic 4r70w smart shift transmission, front disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, hydroboost breaking stops on a dime. A whisper quiet aeromotive fuel pump in the tank and ford control pack makes it come to life with a bump of the key. The classic exhaust note flows through a full 3" dual exhaust to the bumper. Car shows 43k miles but is believed to be exceeded. Since resto, we have put over 8k trouble free miles on it.
Interior: the idea of keeping it to look like 1962 except with modern comforts was carried throughout the interior also. The stock dash was restored while hiding modern stereo and trans tuner inside the glovebox.the seats retain the stock shape with added comfort foam and covered in leather with a small amount of color stitch to tie into the paint color. Leather wrapped steering wheel, all interior trim and door cards and center console are soft wrapped in vinyl to give it a modern feel. Vintage heat and air keep it warm on that cool evening cruise and ice cold on that july day in Arizona!
Exterior: previous to the build the body and frame were separated, blasted and painted. The car wears a beautiful shade of copper pearl that in moderate light resembles 62 chestnut but in extreme light is a brighter more exciting copper/orange/gold color. A custom canvas top was made in lieu of the unattractive stock vinyl top. The power top motor, lines and cylinders were all replaced. Chrome around the top and the door handles were replated, the bumper could stand to be redone.exterior paint has a few chips
The car starts stops and runs as it should. Headlights, tail lights, dash lights and turn signals work as they should.power top heat and air function as they should. The horn is installed but does not function.
