Ford E-Series Van. 1990 Ford Econoline E350 Cargo Van. This was a Law Enforcement Surveillance Van and currently shows just over 42,100 miles and will be climbing because we do still drive it. We are selling the van because of the many projects I have started and need the driveway space, we have owned it for almost 2 years. The paint is actively peeling and can be stopped if it were sanded and sealed with a clear coat. The Vehicle is peppered with scrapes, scratches, surface rust, dents and dings. The largest dents are near the drivers side rear tail light and on the roof over the drivers seat where the worst of the surface rust is also (pictured). The roof has been cut in 2 areas, 1 for the roof vent and another for the coaxial cable which was used for the video equipment it once had. The vent has been sealed, however, does have a small rain water leak, needs more sealant. The interior is in good condition with 1 small area where the leather is pulling away from the binding on the front top part of the drivers seat, and another area of wear is on the passenger side door panel lower rear corner is pulling a little along with the same location on the drivers door panel. The dash Pad is in good condition. The windshield is in good condition. Both vent windows work, however, the passenger side vent frame does show some rust. The engine is a 5.8 EFI 8 Cylinder and runs without smoke and no visible leaks and at times it runs smooth and other times it has a slight vibration, could be the different types of fuel used. The automatic transmission shifts well. The brakes do start off a little spongy when you first start out but work well with no pulling after the first couple of stops. The seat belts do not retract completely so the straps do sag when not in use and the passenger side has been replaced with a blue strap. Driving this thing is like being in a tank, sits high up and solid. The A/C works as it should, however, the fan switch sometimes needs to be wiggled to get it started. There are no Warning Lights on such as the check engine. The instrument cluster all work, however, the stock oil pressure gauge has been disconnected and a more detailed pressure gauge was installed on the bottom left side near the steering column and it works well, however, the wire for the light has not been connected. Instrument cluster lights all work and exterior lights work well, however, the reverse lights do not, never checked to see if the bulbs need to be replaced. The aftermarket radio/cd player works well and was installed with the correct wiring so the manufacturers wiring has not been butchered which means you can find a stock radio and it will plug right in. The major issues that this vehicle does have is the fuel sending units in both front and rear tanks do not read the proper levels. The rear tank shows a half tank when it is full and the front tank constantly fluctuates, also, when the front tank is below a half tank the engine seems to hesitate, may need a new fuel pump in the near future for the front tank. The A/C fan switch may need to be replaced because sometimes it does not turn on until a few minutes or if you wiggle it as mentioned. The tires do have plenty of thread, however, they are old, the hub caps are aftermarket. There is no spare tire or jack, never had one once it became fitted for Surveillance. There are 2 Batteries but only one is hooked up along with lots of wiring and switches that had been disconnected when she was decommissioned. This Van was cut up in many areas when it was fitted for the special equipment it once had and a larger cutout on the drivers side rear wheel floor has been covered with a piece of plywood (see picture), a better job can be done. The partition is rock solid and the sliding door works and is equipped with a deadbolt lock, however, we do not have the key. Pretty cool van, well insulated to be converted into a camper. Recent oil change, recent transmission fluid and filter, recent wipers, recent plugs and wires, however, when I had changed all of the ignition system components, I was unable to reach the passenger side engine front 2 plugs, I will include them with the sale for you to complete. I have described this van to the best of my ability and fully disclosed all of the issues that I am aware of. Take into consideration that this is a 30 year old vehicle and anything can go at any time. Please inspect all of the pictures carefully and ask questions you may have before bidding, I do not want anyone to have buyers remorse. Overall a good solid van with a pretty cool history. If you have 0 feedback please contact me before bidding. Serious inquires only. No International Bidders please. It is encouraged to inspect the van first or have someone inspect it for you to be sure that it is something you want. The van is also being listed locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time if it does sell. If plan on having the vehicle shipped, I am flexible with timing so I can meet with your shipper. Thanks
