The power plant on the Thunderbird is the OPTIONAL Lincoln 430 cubic inch V8 engine that was only available in the 1959 and 1960 Thunderbirds and according to the VIN tag it is correct. The 430 CU IN engine was factory rated at 350 Horsepower and only 1254 Thunderbird convertibles were offered with this engine so this is a RARE bird indeed! Pun intended! The transmission is a 3-speed cruise-o-matic automatic transmission. The engine runs perfectly and the transmission shifts smoothly.

We have owned and driven LOTS and LOTS of classic cars over the years, but few have gotten the attention we get when we drive this one! This is just simply a car that anyone would enjoy driving on those wonderful summer evenings, going to your Cruise Nites or displaying at your local Car Shows. This one is truly a WINNER!

The amazing apparatus of the convertible top is functioning properly and is just a blast to watch operate! The pictures tell the story of how nice this car really is, but there are just a few things that did not get completed during the restoration. The power windows work slowly and could use some adjustment (see pic with top up) and the bird was stored with the top down and the lower belt molding needs re-stapled.
