WITH THE SAME FAMILY FOR NEARLY 60 YEARS!
This gorgeous 36 has been with the same family since 1966. It was purchased from the legendary Audie Swartz. Mr. Swartz was a well-known driver and the two families were both involved in racing in the 50’s and 60’s and spent many weekends at Eldora Speedway. The current owners father was a car owner and esteemed engine builder. The son wanted to drive and race, but the parents advised against such a decision. In turn, the father purchased the 36 for his son and together they went through the car and together, built the engine. The father and son could often be found working on cars together. Story goes by an owner of a reputable shop in Ohio, the original engine was sold and has since set some land speed records in the 757 Camaro (click here).
Later in its life, the son wanted to see the car updated and prowling the streets looking for prey once again. In 2001 the body came off and the frame was inspected, and both painted at a cost of $35,000.A few years later in 1997 the vehicle saw some extensive engine work at a cost of $4,267. Later in 2005/2006 the vehicle saw many upgrades by Lockwood Performance at a cost of $13,050 with most receipts included.
