For the absolute best of both worlds: show and comfort with amazing performance. This absolutely stunning 1937 Ford Slant Back Two Door Sedan has been freshly hand-crafted over the past two years. Finished in January of 2012, "Cabernet 37" has won first place in five successive car shows in which it has been entered, including: The Grand National Roadster Show (January 2011), Sacramento Autorama (February 2011), The Good Guys Del Mar Nationals - "The Meguiar's Magnificent Masterpiece Award" (April 2011), the 24th Annual Seal Beach Classic (May 2011), and lastly, the Wheels and Waves Classic Car Show (May 2011). In the Pismo Beach Classic (June 2011), it was presented as a Gold Class Finalist. In a most recent honor, "Cabernet 37" has been chosen by Meguiar's Wax as an officially sponsored classic vehicle - a recognition reserved for only the best cars worthy of representing the Meguiar's brand. These significant awards are telling of the extreme level of workmanship that has produced one of the most amazing custom cars availabletoday.
The all Henry Ford steel body (not an ounce of fiberglass anywhere) is firmly situated on a custom fabricated frame with a Heidts polished stainless steel front end, Wilwood power assisted disc brakes, power assisted rack and pinion steering, a Ford rear end with 3:09 gears, and QA 1 adjustable shocks and sway bars. The engine is a 383 stroker Chevrolet small block including a hydraulic roller cam, aluminum heads, Magneto distributor, and features eight Weber carburetors designed by Jim Inglese. The 400 plus horsepower engine is nicely mated to a 700R4 automatic transmission, with the original shifter and linkage being retained to keep the car's period correct appearance. The ceramic coated dual exhaust finishes the aesthetic rear view of the car with panache and lets out just the right growl to let the on-lookers know this is no ordinary old Ford.
The exterior paint is a flawless presentation of a PPG custom color - Candy Cabernet. It represents countless man hours of effort and skill to make these colors explode the way they do in this example. The interior has been specifically designed to accent the outer presentation with absolute class. With modern safety features, comfort amenities and superb attention to detail, the car delivers driver and passengers the luxury of a prestigious late model touring car, while maintaining the historic thrill of the stock appearance. All additional controls are hidden from view, and every feature works including the power front cowl duct. Expertly tailored in fine buckskin tan leather, contrasting baseball stitching, suede head liner, German square weave carpets, walnut burl dash with garnish moldings, power lumbar seats, tilt lditit steering column with Juliano's custom banjo-style steering wheel (wood grained to match dash and door trim, Kenwood sound system with I-phone/pod plug-ins , Vintage air conditioning, heat and defroster, power windows with original roll up handles and three-point safety belts in both the front and rear seats.
This tremendous slant back two door sedan rides on Michelin performance radials mounted on matching powder-coated Kelsey Hayes steel wire wheels, once again combining practical high performance withoriginality.
