Hand-painted Ford Motor Company side script commemorating Ford's Centennial in 2003. Equipped with front grill guard, chrome radiator with Ford Motometer, dual cowl lamps, side mounted spares, and rear bumpers! A terrific addition to any Ford collection!
We are very pleased to offer this 1931 Ford Model A 130B Deluxe Delivery finished in commercial color Lombard Blue with Black fenders & belt accents, Black wire wheels, and Hessian Blue pinstripes! Options include code correct 201ci Inline 4 cylinder engine (late February 1931), 3-speed transmission, dual side-mounted spare tires, vacuum wiper, locking rear door, Ford sill plates, radiator grill guard, Ford Motometer, dual cowl lights, single taillight, rear bumpers, dual outside rearview mirrors, new Firestone Gum-dipped 4.75/5.00-19 black wall tires, hood holders, and Sparton horn!
Having spent much of its life in California serving as a local delivery truck for a Northern California bakery for 20 years during the 1960's, it was then painted green with yellow accented wire wheels at that time. The company's name was painted on the side, with their motto on the rear door reading: "Johnson's Pastry- Cakes for All Occasions". It would sell in 1986 to local Model A enthusiast, Lloyd Davis, who would maintain it meticulously in his possession for the next 15 years. This particular example was then sold and fully restored by a prominent Model A collector and restoration expert, Jim Wermes, in 2001 while in Sacramento, California. The body and frame were fully disassembled and properly painted, then reassembled with new wood braces and new wiring. The brakes are all brand new, as it the entire suspension system with new grease fittings and bushings throughout! The engine was overhauled and serviced as needed with new water pump, rebuilt Zenith carburetor, rebuilt distributor, new points & Champion spark plugs, then fully detailed. It continues to run perfectly! The all new black cross-grain textured vinyl interior looks amazing, along with fully refurbished rear wood floor paneling and metal trim! Virtually nothing was left untouched in the restoration process having been reconditioned, refurbished, or replaced for new.
Its finished result makes for a highly decorated and very drivable example, especially with the skillfully painted Ford brand heritage beautifully displayed with the American flag! It possesses a super solid original Briggs body with excellent door fitment, all new window glass, along with new chrome bumpers and wheel caps. The finish work showcases special attention to the smaller details as well to include proper hood rubber buffers, leather corner protectors, rubber latch handle covers, Ford headlight lenses, Ford body plates, and more! Ready for summer time parades, outings across town, or confident weekend touring! You will be impressed with this hard to find Model A Deluxe Delivery no doubt! A great Ford investment that we are sure will not last long! Please feel free to call with any questions or to schedule an inspection to see it in person!
