Car description

Two-time Dearborn Award winner earning Dearborn Emeritus status! Restored by Ford pre-war expert, Jack Hogan, in 2003 and now has just 220 miles on the odometer today! Impeccably finished with accurate details throughout, it is no wonder how it received Early Ford V8 Clubs highest honor! Finished in Mayfair Maroon with Red leather interior and Tan cloth top! A remarkable buy at this price!
Styling was fresh for the 1941 Ford with wider front fenders, headlights were further apart, a bigger front grille with tall center section of vertical bars flanked by a smaller grille on each side. The 221ci V8 supplied 90 horsepower and made available for three model series now branded Special, Deluxe and Super Deluxe. These new 1941 Fords also had larger rear fenders and a more stylish roofline. The wheelbase grew from 112 to 114 inches with overall length stretching to 194.3 inches. It became a little heftier as well gaining 150 pounds with a stronger X-frame chassis underneath, along with softer suspension springs, finally providing the Ford a more balanced road feel often reserved for much more expensive vehicles. This larger profile, combined with smaller running boards, also increased interiors dimensions dramatically allowing the front seat a substantial increase in width of seven more inches. The top end Super Deluxe models features included bright trim on the windshield, running boards, front & rear fenders, rear & side windows, wheel trimmings and chrome grille sections. Super Deluxe script was placed on the inboard position of the driver side front fender as special recognition. Today, they are recognized as one of the best road-going, pre-war vehicles collectors desire for touring and weekend cruising. All Ford convertibles produced were dressed in Super Deluxe trim.
We are excited to offer this gorgeous 1941 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible finished in Mayfair Maroon over Red Leather interior, with Tan Stayfast cloth convertible top and boot cover. Under the hood lies its original 221ci L-Head V8 with Ford 91-99 downdraft carburetion producing 90 horsepower, mated to a 3-speed column shift manual transmission. Options on this frame off restored example include electric, screw-type power folding top, AM radio, dash clock, engine oil filter, outside rearview mirror, front grill guard, hubcaps & beauty rings. Other features include trumpet horns, front & rear bumper guards, Garfield 4-ply tube-type wide whitewall tires measuring 6.00-16, vacuum wipers, and wood grained dash and door garnish moldings.
This stunning example was restored by the esteemed pre-war Ford collector and expert, Jack Hogan of Oregon, who had assembled one of the finest pre-war Ford automobile collections in the country. Upon the sale of a portion of his collection through Bonhams in June 2007, he established 10 world records with sale prices on his prized vehicles! One of which is this very example offered here. It is a two-time Dearborn Award winner, earning Dearborn Emeritus "Walkaround" status. Hogan's restorations are done to near perfection, with each remain great drivers and fully functional. This beautiful convertible earned its first Dearborn Award at the Dearborn Grand Nationals in 2003 scoring 986/1000 points, and again in 2004 at the Western Nationals at Hood River, OR scoring 967/1000 points. It continues to wear its license plate medallion in honor of those successes today. It will also come with a complete Ford tool presentation board for display at events with its own storage bag, along with one for the convertible top boot cover.
You will be hard pressed to find a more accurately restored & expertly maintained 1941 Ford Super Deluxe convertible on the market. Special attention to the finest details is necessary to score above 950 points at Early Ford V8 Club of America National events. This example shows just 220 miles on the odometer since completion of its outstanding restoration. If you seek one of the best examples for your collection, look no further. This Super Deluxe Convertible is priced well below the record-breaking price it achieved in 2007, and could not be duplicated again for the asking price. Astute collectors should act quickly on this one!
