For sale is a 1989 Ford Taurus SHO with only 55K! it is the 3.0L v6 with a 5-speed. The story behind this SHO is what made me buy it in the first place.
The previous owner was Wade Stewart, one of the original owners of sound stream Audio equipment in the 90’s. This was his Soundstream show car that they took to CES in Vegas. When Wade was forced out of the company this car was all he took and so it sat for over a decade until last year. The car was caked with about an inch of dust and flats on all 4 tires. The fuel pump was dead but all the electronics worked as they should (with a new battery of course). It required a complete drain and flush of fluid, a thorough detail but was bought back to presentable and drivable condition. I drove it for about a month and got stopped everywhere (if it wasn’t because of the car it was because of the Soundstream logo. I started to feel bad putting so much mileage on such a cool car that I let it sit for about three months. Recently I bought a house and need the money.
The pros of the car are that everything works and operates as it should. Has Enkei Aeronautics with the matching center caps and comes with a bunch of Soundstream audio equipment. Has the upgraded Walbro fuel pump from Shosource. All new fluids and new shift rods pivots (replaced the plastic with the metal ones from Shosource). No rust at all. Was garage kept all its life. No rust at all.
The cons are that is hasn’t had its 60K service as far as I know. The paint has some dents and scratches. The driver's seat has a tear in the left side bolster. It has an exhaust shield rattle that I am going to try to locate and fix.
Overall it is a pretty low mileage SHO that would crush it at any 80’s or 90’s car show. I love to see someone else enjoying this thing for years to come. If you have any questions call me at 702-595-2793
