Up for sale is a beautiful 1949 Ford Convertible Custom Street Rod. This little car has had a complete restoration and some Custom modifications all finished in 2012. The body hasFrenched headlights at the front,Frenchedtaillights at the rear, shaved door handles with remote openers, custom gas door,and beautiful paint - Base coat / Clear coat 4 - layers each, patterned off 2003 Corvette Anniversary Red, all cut and rubbed to a beautiful shine. (Shows the straight body)A nice original Arizonacar with only 50K miles on it was used in the build. The body was taken off frame, placed on rotisserie andany rust replaced with new panels.(Not Much) The bottom and insides of the body were sprayed with 3- coats of Lizard skin in and out, plus 2 coats of heat reducer. Sound matt was also used under the carpeting. All new glass was installed with the cool V but windshield, with no center strip. The car has custom bumpers, all new stainless trim and a new chrome grill replaced the original. (Very Nice) The frame was worked over with a Fatman Mustang II front end with power disk brakes and power steering up front.A 1992 Ford Explorer 8.8 diff. with 3.73 gears, narrowed to fit is at the rear.Then the frame was sprayed with epoxy prime andpainted. (Clean)The engine is a 1996 Crown Vic. 4.6 with Police computer module andthe Crown Vick's 4 speed overdrive automatic transmission was also used in the build. The Police computer module adds 50 HP to the engine, upping it to 330 HP. Then the body wasmattedback to the frame and all body gaps, doors, hood, and deck refitted.To finish the build, a custom Creamwith Burgundy piping interior,and beautiful matching color dash with all new top wereinstalledby well known Mattoon's Custom Upholstery. (Nice Custom Job) A Ididit tilt steering column, Concord custom steering wheel, Classic industry's DigitalGages, Retro Radio with blue tooth and a coolold school under dash air-conditioning unitwas also installed complimenting the very nice interior.(comfortable)Only about 8000 miles have been put on the car from finish and thislittle Ford runs and drives great.
